It would have been higher but ****ing Dave Bolland had to come back and drag the percentage down, eventually costing us the series.
Yeah dude, faceoffs are so useless.

I would love for us to get Madden back. He looked good when we played him, just a little overplayed. Put him on the 4th line and if Kruger is in fact our No. 3, at least we have a guy to put out on defensive zone draws. He's a clear upgrade over Johnson.

Being able to win faceoffs is nice. Being a good hockey player is more important.

Saw him all year in MN last year. Might have been the team but he just seemed a bit slow. It just looked like he didn't have much left in the tank during the last 1/4 of the season. During the Wild's poor run in the middle 1/2 of the season he said the coach had lost the locker room. So he might have been not fully into it. His kid plays hockey with my neighbor's son is how I heard that. So it is second hand info on the comment.

He looked the same with us. He definitely wore down during the stretch and into the playoffs. If we sign him, it might be best to give him some "maintenance days" to keep him fresh all year. Maybe throw Mayers at C against bigger teams like the Blues and Ducks and keep Madden to about 65-70 regular season games.

True. You still need 2 good faceoff centers for PKs... Otherwise you're at a big disadvantage in your own zone.

As much as I appeciated the valuable contributions made by guys like Madden and Sopel in our finest hour, I believe it is time to move on. Signing either would take valuable ice time away from our youth.

They won't play youth on the 4th.

Is Jamal Mayers really a center? I could swear that he always played wing for the Blues and the Leafs.

That's how I remember it too. I don't want Mayers as C.

He can play center, he is actually decent at winning faceoffs. The main problem is he isn't any good at hockey and is even worse when at center where the responsibilities are greater.

One would have thought picking up Leaf castoffs that were a part of making them the biggest laughingstock in the league of the last seven years would have clued the team in the FIRST time, but I guess not.
