When I watch Mike Pelfrey, I'm reminded of Burnett: mentally soft, prone to falling apart. The head doesn't come close to matching the arm.

Remember that game show "The Weakest Link"? Right now that's Burnett. This guy costs us too many games to keep him in the rotation. At least Phil Hughes has only had a few and has been slowly improving. Burnett has stunk all year. We're just lucky the offense went nuclear tonight, or it would've been a loss; the first since Burnett's last start as a matter of fact.

I understand why Girardi went so long here, with so many runs he figures he can get a confidence-building win, but when you give up 7 runs I don't really think it's gonna work. good move by Joe to draw the line and take him out. He got more slack than he deserved tonight and he blew it.

13-1 lead, and can't get a win, seriously?

I'm at a loss as far as this outing from Burnett. On the birghtside, seems we found a nice little gem in Corey Wade who's pitched wonderfully and just restored order in seconds flat.

I wanted to see his ass out in the 4th inning, it was already apparent that he was losing it at that point.

Of course Girardi wanted to give AJ every chance to get the win, but when he took him out he had to. If AJ gives up a home run on the next pitch (which really isn't that unlikely) all of a sudden it's a very close 3 run game.

Yeah he went longer than he should've, but knowing Girardi I'll take it. He usually waits til we're losing.

Ozzie Guillen out of the dugout. Might get some free entertainment here

EDIT: meh, Ozzie was rather subdued there.

Yep.. we got this guy for '12 and '13.

I'm getting tired of the commentators calling him the #2 pitcher. He's not the #2 pitcher, not even close

@16.5 mill per.

Only Sabathia, Santana, Zambrano, Zito, Beckett, Lee and Halladay make more.

Lee makes less this year but his new contract kicks in next season.

He should be off pie duty too. Let Swisher do it. AJ doesn't deserve to do our pies.

He got racked up by a below .500 team tonight. He can't even pitch against those teams.

AJ is a joke.

What's the excuse now, Mr. Whiskey Tango? Is it Jorge's game calling? Is it Dave Eiland's insubordination? Is it a messy divorce? Funny because we've heard the aforementioned excuses before, havent we? Too bad those excuses have done nothing for your WHIP and overall command.

Get rid of this clown. I'd rather have Igawa pitch.
