And the various federations could easily put a stop to it. Further review shows clear simulation? Boom, player gets fined x, team gets fined 5x. But they don't. Go figure.
I don't disagree with you at all. I would like to see fines or suspensions levied. It just bugs me when people say that is the reason they disregard the entire sport. I mean cmon you posted a video from an ECUADOR UNDER 20 match.

Actually, a Chile v. Ecuador under 20 match. Meaning, an INTERNATIONAL MATCH, between two countries that are probably better than we are.

Mostly I just posted that video because ES SPECTACULARRRRRRR. All fines paid out for diving should go into a reward fund for brilliant dives like that one.

Why? Everyone knows ACC football sucks. But that's because, unlike the SEC, our league has a salary cap.

Sorry to interrupt your adorable football conversation, but Big Brother starts in just under two hours on CBS, and you should all watch it.

It's the only thing that makes Summer television worth watching.

So funny.

EDIT - See associated Chad LaRose comment below.

Read my previous post, and thought I have to clarify something: I'm a fan of soccer. I hope my obscure post didn't lead anybody to other conclusions. By "pain to watch" I meant diving, not the entire sport.

But anyways, I agree that there should be fines or other consequences for diving. Refs should be encouraged to give cards for embellishment. They rarely have the nerve to do that.

Fun fact: the higher the level of soccer, the more there is diving.

So not only is TSN's Bob McKenzie spending the summer at the outer banks, he's tweeting from an Eric Church concert. Fantastic

If this happens, I'm totally retrofitting a Canes jersey.

Any of you play softball in the Triangle? Looking for suggestions for a late summer/fall league.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Shannon Stone, and also to local boy Josh Hamilton.

Can't imagine how he feels right now.

Not trying to sound harsh, but the last thing Hamilton's delicate psyche needs is a death he can feel guilty about. This can't be good.

and I have never seen the type of injury embellishment in hockey that you see in soccer. For christmas sake, they take them off the field on WWII stretchers and then they come back on the field 2 minutes later at full sprint

Example from McAdoo’s UNC paper:

The Arabs called this region al-Zartj, “The Blacks,” and the coastal area slowly came under the control of Muslim merchants from Arabia and Persia. In other words, these Arabs and Persian settlers took over. They made this land their own. They infiltrated it and by? the 1300s, the major east African ports reached from Mombaza in the north to Sofala in the south.” It had become thoroughly Islamic and cultural ceniers.

From Richard Hooker’s web page titled “The Swahili Kingdoms” and first published in 1997:

The Arabs called this region al-Zanj, “The Blacks,” and the coastal areas slowly came under the control of Muslim merchants from Arabia and Persia. By the 1300’s, the major east African ports from Mombaza in the north to Sofala in the south had become thoroughly Islamic cities and cultural centers.

I could cite more examples, but you get the idea.

Unless the University of North Carolina has enacted a radical new academic standard without telling anyone outside Chapel Hill, the McAdoo UNC class paper cited by UNC AD Baddour and other North Carolina officials to the NCAA in multiple reinstatement appeals was filled to the brimmed with blatant plagiarism.

The plagiarism used by these players should have easily been detected... UNC has a program to detect it and obviously didn't use it on the football players

Ok, so I'm an out of towner...

After hearing about Megabus on here, I've decided to travel the economy way to go see some family later this month. It looks like the Megabus stop is at the Durham Station Transportation Center.

Can anyone tell me anything about this place? I would be gone for around a week and would need a place to park. When I look the place up they show nice pictures of the place, but I couldn't find much of anything about the parking options.

Anyone with any experience, advice, or info?

If I'm not mistaken, that's near the DBAP, if so, there are plenty of parking decks... Just say you lost your ticket too and you'd only pay one day of parking I think...

Plenty of parking around there. It's right next to the train station, and there are a dozen parking decks within a 15 minute walk.

Nothing against Durham, but my recommendation is not to arrive at that stop after about 10pm.
