Not gonna lie, I love this news. So stoked to see Darchey get a pay raise. I've harped on him so badly the past two years, thinking he was a scrub, but he's shown how much heart he has, and it's just outstanding. That's a money in the bank signing for the Habs right there. Expect a great performance from him.
that is a good value. he earned a slight raise. he can get the job done, adds depth grit, and drive to the net. I like.
PG having a pretty good off season so far!
Sign Emelin=wow
sign Diaz= nice find
sign Gill to reasonable deal= solid
Sign Akost 1 yr same money = good
sign Darche 1 yr slight raise= solid
2 solid signing in 2 days! now lets see what he has planned for this weekned!
He is being proactive. That is for sure. No need to stress out in late June trying to sign UFAs when you have a few months to do so after the end of the season.
As for Darche, he will score a few goals but most importantly will never quit. He works hard and a great example for younger players on the team.
another solid signing. Once markov, gorges and pacioretty are signed i can breathe a little easier, and hopefully white and desharnais get their contracts renewed they are 2 solid bottom 6 players with alot of heart
To be honest, I'm more happy for him than anything else. He's 34 years old and went through something like 7 AHL teams and 5 NHL teams but he still just never gave up. He totally deserves this contract and the stability that comes with it.

What do you think about the James Reimer signing? Are you happy?
Overpayment? 700 k in today's NHL? A rookie would make probably more!
Got one.

Dude. It's fine. If you are happy battling for the final three playoff spots going into the last 2-3 weeks of the season, then that's ok.
I would like to shoot for higher. Sorry.
If this team does not improve in overall team toughness and more importantly in 5 on 5 play, then the status quo is what you will get.
Darche is a good fill in incase we cannot get that top 6 go to the net forward. He was great in front of the net last year, and is a gritty mother ****er. I don't know where you got the idea he is soft. He also might not have a roster spot to start the season...
I'm pretty sure he was in everyone's GM mode lineup somewhere so I don't know why you or other doubters are so surprised about this deal lol.
I spent way too much time trying to figure out what "got one." meant. Guess I haven't had enough coffee for my brain to work at full steam. I did realize that your entire post can be rearranged to make the phrase "Forget a goon fleet.", so I did get something out of it.

I'm not surprised at all. I knew he would be back.
I would just like our bottom 6 forwards to bring something different to the table.

Yeah yeah. Get bigger, get tougher etc.. Keep playing armchair GM never happy with anything when we're still 3 weeks from free agency. Same song and dance every summer. I'll keep being positive about the way this guy is going at his work balls-out and doing his best to improve this already very promising young core. Based on what I've seen in the last two years in the playoffs from this team I can only be optimistic. The way this team shows up in the postseason and the kids we have contributing now has me thinking they're doing something right.

He might not even be in the starting lineup, so you should just wait and see where this goes. Right now he is a bargain at his contract with a 1 year deal.
Darche put up similar PPG to Gomez last year - I wouldn't call him a 12-13th forward.
Darche had a good season, Gomez had a brutal season...which is the understatement of the day.....good signing for the Habs! Thought he might get more $$$.
Great character type of guy! As mentioned, one of the few we have that will go to the net!

You're happy with mediocrity - I'm not. That's the bottom line.
