Just walk right in - it's on the roof of the parking garage in the mall. You do need to register for the rookie scrimmage but this year that's in Philly.

Who me worry??

One year I went (from New Carrollton metro so quite a trip) only to find the scrimmage had been cancelled

What are the best twitters/other online ways to look for this?

I'm guessing these twitters::
capsmedia
vogscaps
japersrink
kcarrerra

Any others?

I plan to go on Wed and I think it was a similar schedule - where they had 2 practices and then a scrimmage so I'm concerned it will happen again..

We will on Monday when the groups take the ice...it's possible Vogel may write or a tweet may surface in advance indicating which group one or two prospects are in, but in general, the Caps don't release that information in advance and don't release the names of FA invites.

Getting there early and getting a seat on the balcony works for me. Avoids most of the annoying stuff.

Do you think the new addition Paquette will attend the camp?

I was wondering the same; I imagine it depends on whether he can change plans last minute and be available and if all the papers are in order, as well.

Thanks. I'll wait until at least Tuesday to go then. There is only one player whom I am interested in watching. (You can figure out whom from my avatar.)

I think you guys will be pleasantly surprised by Sam Carrier. Having seen him play a bunch of times this year, he's turning into a very solid all-around hockey player.

Henley (also played for the MAINEiacs) is an interesting FA prospect. He's only 18, put up decent numbers in the Q last year playing mostly on the third line, and has something you can't teach -- size. I wouldn't be surprised to see him break out next year in the Q.

FA invites / Maybes:

Thereís a post on the USCHO forums indicating 2 or 3 NMU players may attend camp as invitees. Not sure how accurate the information is since other information in the post is hit or miss and a quick search didnít provide any confirmation, wait and see, but the 3 mentioned are:
Andrew Cherniwchan, F, attended Caps camp last summer
Wade Epp, D
Kyle Follmer, D, attended Chicago camp last summer

Also, sounds like Pat Mullane, F, Boston College (teammate of Wey's) may be in attendance.

If you have limited time and want to see Koudys that makes sense...one note, they do on-ice testing one of the days...usually on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Whoever is attending, can you comment on how Sjogren does? I expect him to stand out since he has been playing in the elite league.

thanks, saw that pop up on twitter while I was out today, along with some others...I will add all in post 7.

Along with the RIT two...

another WHL/Seattle player, Mitch Elliot

another BC player, Pat Mullane

Scott Wietecha, D, NCAA-Ferris State (then ECHL Elmira for a few games after his senior season)

20 on Caps roster (including Paquette) plus FA invites identified by position:

4 goalies: 3 goalies plus 1 FA invite identified

12 defensemen: 7 dmen plus 5 FA invites identified

20 forwards: 10 forwards plus 10 FA invites identified

I'm assuming there will be some more FAs in attendance, possibly some of the NMU players above, but this is most of them since now up to 36 players.

Burt's mainly a forward (RW) IIRC.

Eakin & Orlov should be the head and shoulder leaders here, with only physical strength in question relatively speaking. It's an important camp for Sjogren, Flemming, Stefishen, Grubauer, Mitchell & Paquette to prove their readiness to Washington/Hershey. Others are looking to leave their mark.

I'm most interested if there are any new system wrinkles they may trot out this week, especially when it comes to puck possession and sustained attacking. These camps provide a decent opportunity to experiment on some things that may be integrated down the road. Keeping things simplified would make it easier on the players but if they really want to gauge a player's hockey sense and adaptability then making things purposefully complicated should only help the evaluation process.

If a guy with 6 years of pro hockey in Sweden, the last 3 in the SEL, behind him and a World Championship silver medal on his CV needs a good developmental camp to prove his readiness then this signing was a waste...

Everyone needs to prove their readiness, regardless of resume. This is a depth player and first impressions help start making his case for a spot in what should be an open competition for the 12th, 13th & 14th forward spots.

Full roster posted. Roster separated by group.
