Kassian + for Brayden Schenn

I'd put Zach Kassian on the Table, plus other prospects or picks. Boyes, Morrison.

What picks or prospects more would need to be added.

The Kings are probably the last team that have a need for a player like Kassian.

I'm curious, why would the kings do this? They are loaded on the right wing.

Kassian being our most highly regarded prospect. That's why I started there.

LA does not need prospects.

And LA most certainly does not need to downgrade prospects for greater depth.

Seriously, you need to at least consider the other team's needs before posting a proposal.

Doesn't make sense for the kings on a need stand point. A third team would need to be involved.

The kings arent looking for more prospects at this point. They need a legit top line winger. If B schenn is getting traded, it would be in a package for a established top line winger or center (Carter, etc...).

Ennis, Butler, 3rd?

I admit I am not sure of the kings needs, but is this close? I love Ennis but a young high potential center like Schenn is the only way I'd trade him comfortably

I know he has had only one season, albeit a good one, but I would assume you'd want Ennis over Boyes or pomminville. Maybe switch out Ennis for Stafford if you want a young guy with some more experience and talent (he is RW though which was expressed as a strength)

Kings need Schenn more than that package.

Kings fans turned down Vanek for an unproven Schenn. They won't want Kassian

LA has great prospect depth at every position. While Kassian is a great prospect, Schenn is significantly better and plays a more important position (centre). The Kings, rich in quantity already, so they don't trade away the best player in the deal.

I like Kassian, but we need what we hope Schenn can be, a legit 2nd line centre who will help anchor a much needed second scoring line.

Were the Kings talking to Buffalo and Schenn was on the table, Vanek would be the only Sabre we'd have interest in based on their own current roster.

Let's run a random thread check and see who can't infer that Schenn is but part of the package we'd offer for Vanek.

It would have to be Schenn + a lot. As much as Sabres fans get frustrated with Roy, he's still a top line center on most teams. You'd probably have to throw in a legit top 4 dman. I know less about the kings than almost any team, so I'm not sure what we'd want here. And dealing Roy for a prospect is tricky because we don't have any center depth. We'd have to make another deal for a Spezza, Stastny type on top of it (easier said than done). But I for one am not against dealing him, as we played better as a team after Roy got injured, so he's replaceable, IMO.

Also, many sabres fans think that we need results now, but Pegulla stated his intentions were a 3 year plan for the cup. If the deal benifited us a year or two down the road, it would be worth taking a hard look at.

Awards:
Kings don't need prospects and Buffalo doesn't need to get that unproven in the middle by dealing Roy for a prospect.

Same teams, different players:

Dustin Brown to Buffalo

Jason Pominville to LA

I wouldn't do it if I were Buffalo. Brown is good but he's ridiculously overrated around here.

Lol... Pretty much similar production, DB has more goals, while JP has more assists (points edge going to JP), but also cost 2 mill a year more.

How is he overrated compared to JP??

We wish.Brown is younger, bigger, better.Poms is good, but not a game changer like Brown is.

As for trading Kassian period, I'll pass.I have never been more excited for a Sabre prospect then I have been with Kassian...he makes me salivate knowing that no more teams will be taking liberties (IE Philly) on our players when they are vulnerable, or else they will be knocked out (literally, with a clean hard check ) by Kassian.

Brown's career PPG: .59
Pominville's career PPG: .78

Pominville is just as good, if not better defensively than Brown as well. The only thing Brown has over Pominville is that he hits more and is a couple years younger. And if a player is younger and is more physical, that automatically makes them the perfect hockey player on HFBoards.

2nd line center, first line (left)winger...

And nobody already mentioned....the Kings already have a Kassian clone in their line-up. (not that another would hurt)

More goals, more hits, younger And way cheaper than JP.. That's why some of us would take him over JP. Brown isn't expected to be a ppg player, nor do kings fan thinks he will rack up the assists. But with his caphit, physical play, he is a good fit for any team. Is he a superstar? No... But for his salary he outperforms many people... That's not overrated.
