Would a line of Clifford/Richards/Brown be formidable?

Could they be the "Brick Line", for BRC?

Someone already suggested that lineup.

Personally, I like Clifford on that line better than Parse or even Lokti.

No. Clifford plays well in situations where he's relied on for his physical presence and not on a scoring line. I think him on the left, Stoll at center, and Richie(son) at RW would be a killer 3rd line. He's proven he can play well with Richie(son) during the playoffs.

Really? I'd rather have both over Cliffy on that line. Parse has more of an offensive upside than Clifford and Lokti has incredible vision and passing ability. If he could just adjust his game to playing wing instead of his natural center, Lokti COULD be the solution to our LW woes.

Richie only plays LW or C not RW.

Parse has good upside but I just like having a lineup where all 3 of our forwards can layout an opponent with a hit.

Clifford can grow into another Lucic type of player if given the opportunity.

Lokti's best position is C and not LW.

Richie can adjust. He's versatile. At worst, try Cliffy at Rw. You really don't need to have 3 people that can hit on your 2nd line. Clifford doesn't have as much offense I don't think but we'll see. Lokti no doubt is better at C but he needs top 6 role/minutes to thrive in the NHL.

I would hope around 30-35 times a season, right before the words "he scores!"

Lol.

M Richards on the 3rd line and Clifford on the 1st line.

Yeah, I got a suggestion or two to tattoo on your forehead buddy.

Just putting people in their natural positions pal. Rolling three lines. No team would have three lines to stop three lines like that. It's called creating mismatches. (in this hypothetical world)

One of Richards/Kopitar is already going to create a mismatch. Usually, each team has one real shutdown line. When you have two #1 centers, that automatically causes mismatches.

More to my point was that you don't put a player like Richards on the third line. The guy makes almost 6M a season and you want to put him on the third line playing against opponents best lines?

Brad Richards won't be a king. He'll probably be a flyer now that they've cleared cap space and are in need of a center.

Yes. Usually a team has their first line and a shutdown line. The idea of spreading the wealth across three lines would be that there is no one to cover that third line. (this is all hypothetical anyways...)

This is stupid. I realize we are not getting Brad Richards. I was commenting on the guy who said if we get Brad Richards he would tattoo his number on his forehead.

And yes. I would always play Mike Richards against opponents best line. That's what Mike Richards does... he shuts down Sidney Crosby and other teams top players.

Ek thinks Selanne may go to Pittsburgh. I have a hard time believing that. If so, I'd love to see Dean try to get into that trade with PIT for him.

Your Next King: LW Simon Gagne

Book it. No way he doesn't end up here after the Richards & Smyth trades.

Penner-Kopitar-Williams
Gagne-Richards-Brown

Is Uncle Phil paying for the parade like Cuban did?

Makes sense for Simon Gagné to come here now, especially because Richards is here, makes sense

Interesting. I forgot Gagne and Richards played together. That would work but Gagne is going to be expensive.

Not necessarily.

He very well may give us a discount to play alongside Richards.

I like Gagne but I always worry about his health.

What about aquiring Eric Cole to play with M. Richards and D. Brown?

Cole - M. Richards - Brown

He's the one guy I really don't want. We need a pure scoring player.
