So if Tampa fans wanted to riot in downtown Tampa.....would everybody have to drive somewhere to loot?

Eh, I say we just riot in St. Pete. Everything is conveniently close down there. And the shops are much nicer. Of course the St. Pete PD is probably armed like the military after some of the crap they've dealt with in the past year.

Yeah - both cities would release the hounds of hell. Vancouver PD are like "Excuse me, would you please drop that large rock and follow me over to our police escort vehicle? Sorry for your loss eh? There's some beer and a jelly donut in the cooler if ya want - help yourself."

All this riot discussion got me thinking about how I sort of want to do a zombie walk.

We could just do a Lightning fan flash mob and hope people give us loot.

About 2-3 years too early IMO, once they get into middle school I could see getting a kid a phone but at 10 years old do they really go anywhere where they would need to make an emergency call?

2-3 years, or maybe even a bit longer, depending on how much they respect the 'appointments' they make. There has to be a period of time where they basically lock themselves into plans with friends over the phone or whatever, and then follow through with them.

I see having a cell phone as an easy-out to that with others because they can claim their plans 'suddenly changed'. It allows someone to make promises, and then not necessarily feel the need to keep them. (If the kid getting the cell phone has not developed that sense of duty yet.)

I got my first phone at 22. True story. Until then, it was quarters playa.

Also. I thank the link from IdealisticSniper; you win the internets.

Who wants to go on a road trip to Vancouver? I think it would be a riot.

Am I too late for those jokes?

Where did my proclamation of my love go? I swear I posted that.

This is what I had been telling my daughter, when she gets into Middle school we would talk about it... She's been begging for a phone since last Christmas...says all her friends have them.. and watching the kids coming out after school, I could see she was probably right...

I got her a trac-phone with pre-paid minutes (so NO contract) and told her I would only get her new minutes once a month so she better budget them wisely...

We will see how she does with this for the next year depending on how well she does..we'll see about getting her a regular cell phone.

You honestly wouldn't believe how many parents used to come in and buy phones for their 9-12 year old kids.

I think we've all seen young kids using bluetooth and we all know how ridiculous it looks. Somehow less ridiculous than most adults using it though.

You see, mom, I NEED bluetooth so I can play play-doh and legos while I'm on the phone.

Speaking of play-doh and legos, Marty's b-day was yesterday. Happy birthday little guy!

My nephew has a cell phone. My brother didn't get it for him, his ex-wife got it for him. (Originally she got him a new one for his birthday, but then switched his phone with her old phone -- a shoddy move by her. So wrong. But anyways...) The thing is, my nephew isn't all that responsible with it, so I think it was a mistake. He needs to mature a bit before having one.

1 million riot photos and 1000 hours of video taken during Vancouver riot sent to the police.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/britis...t-charges.html

Not sure what Sting's going to do with all of that.

The article is just about the most Canadian thing I've ever read. Of course, the most Canadian thing would be to *not* riot, but regardless.

Both of my kids are older now...I have had AT&T since the beginning of time. The nice part was being able to shut those two phones down with one phone call when they were being punished. They still hate me for it...
