Sather will be looking for a tough guy to replace Boogaard. that will most likely happen. he is 31 years old and would be a cheaper option and he can forcheck and hit very well.

I prefer Boulton, he is bigger and offers the same skill set, just bigger and better.

...we agree.

Is the world ending?

Yes, I prefer Boulton as well -- he's not entirely useless when he isn't fighting like Darcy is -- he even had a hat trick against the Devils.

How about we don't sign a tough guy? We didn't utilize one last year,or the year before and we did fine toughness wise.

But knowing sather well sign someone for wither a stupid amount of money or time because he can't help himself.

i've said it a thousand times you don't really need a tough guy. Example Detroit. the whole team had 13 fights last year, 19 the year before and 11 in 08/09, and they are consistently one of the top teams in the league.

All you really need is guys that are willing to stand up for their team mates when needed. Guys like Prust, Dubi, Boyle and Sauer. i would add avery to this list but honestly i still to this day cannot figure out how and why avery picks his fights, like he has his on agenda out there.

Yea no thanks to any useless hockey player.

With salary cap restraints, wasting space in a guy who can't play hockey is not smart.

We have plenty of options for 3rd and 4th line players that add toughness and can play.

Weise and Newbury for example.

Give me guys who don't back down and can contribute both 5v5 and special teams.

Dubinsky, Callahan, Boyle, Prust, Staal, Girardi, Sauer...

Heavyweights are not needed.

I loved Newbury when he was playing a few games up with the Rangers.

Mike 'Rupp and Konopka trade boyle while he has value. 4th line Rupp Konopka Prust can play ruff and score. Darcy sucks

Aves is right about Darcie. Boulton or Rupp are better choices if you need a tough guy that can play.

I'd reach out to MacIntyre or Rupp.

Preferably Rupp, big guy who can play the game aside from fighting.

A bottom 6 of

Fedotenko Boyle Prust
Avery Rupp Weise

with EC as the extra F.

That would be fantastic

essentially 2 4th lines...too much non-scoring going on. Fedotenko/Boyle/Prust on the 4th line is above average, leave it there and build a top line and let everyone else trickle down.

Konopka would make me happy for FOs and decent physical play. I think him and Prust can more than take care of things. Wasnt Prust top 5 in fights? Why do we need another fighter anyway? We need scorers, not redudant 4th liners.

Boyle and Prust (with the seasons they just had) are not 4th liners. 4th liners dont score 21 and 14 goals respectively. Prust will probably repeat this season's production and I think Boyle will, too. They are both going to see Barb Underhill this summer. If it it improves Boyle's skating more, and adds speed to Prust's game, I can even see them exceeding this past season's performances.
