2 things - prospal did enough I think to be offered a deal, and a spot on 3rd line LW with the way you have it setup. Would keep him fresh, and also he was productive when healthy.
secondly, if Konopka could be signed affordably, maybe do a 4th line of boyle-konopka-prust with avery as the extra forward?
oh and i'd really love to see Feds back...running out of roster spots though lol. maybe MZA can compete with Avery for that extra forward spot? there's always injuries anyway.
lol, you ran out of roster spots in your first sentence. I recall Torts implying Prospal was done because of his knees. You really just have to ask yourself who the odd men out are going to be. Who can be stashed in Hartford if you are taking the "there's always injuries" route. Wasn't it just the season before last that we had one of the fewest games loss to injuries? You can't exactly rely on players getting hurt. cross your fingers it doesn't!

Get Bizznasty here...Would be great in a limited role. Good lockerrom guy. Miniscule cap hit. Loved everywhere he played so far. Can go with the heavies, and dominated the middies. Rotate him against rivals or tougher teams.
Prust and Bissionette would be a solid combo that wony hurt you financially, or hurt you as liabilites on the ice. These guys can handle themselves and always do thier jobs.
if people want to watch goon fighting, go watch UFC or some other crap. not hockey.

I dont think its about "wanting to watch goon fighting". Its about having someone around to answer the bell if someone comes calling.....
We already have guys who have shown the will and ability to do this.

All answer the bell when it's time. No need to go get a goon. You can sometimes fill this need through waivers during the season if those guys can't seem to handle the job but I doubt that will be needed.

You're right lol and it's sad in a way because we prob dont have room for everyone.
And the last thing we'd want are 3 guys not playing, taking up 3+ million in cap room that could be spent on an impact player. As much as we all love 3rd/4th line grinder types, you can't have a team full of them. That was the issue last year. Really, maybe the last 4-5 forwards can be those types of guys. Konpoka, Prust, Feds, Aves most years are going to pot 10 goals at most. Boyle might be a 15 goal guy consistently, we'll see. But yea we are pretty set at the bottom. Now comes the hard part...filling the top 2-3 lines.
Just revert back to this seasons playoffs. There are some tough teams out there. Most of which made it to the Semi's...Boston maybe the toughest of the group. Vancouver has it's share too.

This is why I didn't want Gaborik. Imagine Bieksa vs Gaborik every shift in a 7 game series.
Need the mix...need the physical guys in the top 6. The 7 game grind is just brutal on these guys.
What, we have plenty of physical guys...we would outmuscle either one of these teams in the Finals, we have plenty of grit, we need Ray Whitney and Scottie Upshall. That will take us over the top.
IMO Zenon Kenopka is still a guy the Ranger should be targeting. The Rangers struggle on faceoffs and this guy is rock solid on them, he's easily top10 in the league for the past 2 years. He's more of a middle weight but he's got a bit of a screw loose like Prust and fights and wins against the big guys too. So unless he's fighting someone like John Scott, he gets the job done. Playing him 6-8 minutes a game in a 4th line banger role, a faceoffs specialist, pugilist, and defensive zone PK specialists is the kind of role he'd be perfectly suited for and it's he wouldn't be a one dimensional goon. Playing that kind of role would limit the exposure and vulnerability that his poor skating would have and lets face it, no goon is a swift skater either.

Those are the two that I'd expect to play with him. Gaborik goes on a separate line because you want two separate lines so teams can defend against you.

You think it the wrong way. You have to think about Boyle, Dubinsky, & Callahan vs Bieksa every shift in a 7 game series. You have to think your game plan to them, not their game plan to you. The latter is a losers strategy.

Not the point at all. Being physical is important. Being tough enough to handle the rigors of a 7 game series is another. I am not a Gaborik hater, but I do question his durability for obvious reasons.

Scott didnt play the first 2 games of that series..when they inserted him...him gave his teammates some of the confidence they needed and the entire series changed. I am not foolish enough to say that John Scott was the reason but those games in Vancouver the Hawks were getting manhandled.
