If we ever trade Carter and Richards, we must get equal pieces in return.

We are in win now mode:

1. We have no prospects who surely developed in one of the than missing roles
2. This Draft is a weak draft, so there is no Yzerman who help us winning now, so why we trading for picks
3. Timonen, Pronger, Briere are too old in 2 or 3 Years
4. we lack top 6 wingers so we must get top6 forwards back

____________________________________________

I can think about a trade like this:

Carter for Morrow or Iginla or David Booth
Richards for Shane Doan, Bobby Ryan, Mikko Koivu, Jordan Staal

Or you trade both of them for the rigths of Gagne and Stamkos, if youre sure they sign with you.

Gagne 3.0 per Stamkos 7.0 per year

________________________________________________

But you loose 2 of your franchise players and you never knows if the new aquisitions ever reach their potential for their new franchise.

I still only want to trade one of them: Carter if its for Morrow, Iginla, Koivu or Ryan!

just my two cents

JVR had two good games in the playoffs. I love what we saw from him and I hope he builds on that next season. But let's keep it in perspective. It was two good games.

Richards vs Roo would be interesting. It's really not close, in my mind. I'm just very happy that both players are Flyers.

It's amazing to me how little respect Richards gets around here these days. Holy **** people.

and in those two games, JVR has shown more in the playoffs than Carter has in his playoff career

This is kind of interesting...Florida can then swap us number 1 and I'll do a number 2 in my pants...

Quote:
Ryan Kennedy via twitter: 2 sources have told Kennedy that the Oilers could be looking to trade down from the 1st overall pick, with Florida a likely trade partner.
Quote:
Adrian Dater via twitter: Hearing chatter that Oilers and Panthers talking about swapping picks.

Some more "nuggets"

Quote:
Harvey Fialkov of the Sun-Sentinel: The Panthers are interested in drafting a center and would like to get there hands on Ryan Nugent-Hopkins if available, followed by Jonathan Huberdeau.

Quote:
Adrian Dater of the Denver Post: Dater thinks the Avalanche could draft Huberdeau at #2. Tomas Fleischmann still hasnít been medically cleared, and the Avs havenít said anything regarding his UFA status. Peter Mueller will be in training camp.

I don't think they'd be trading up only to give us the pick, unfortunately.

One can dream but who knows how things can develop..here was an interesting commentary on Florida going after Carter and why it would make sense for them

How about 7 points in 12 games while playing on 2 broken feet? Is that good enough for you? Or does he need to cure AIDS while scoring 2 hat tricks to win the Stanley Cup after having an arm amputated to convince you he isn't a bad player?

This statement makes as much sense as half the baseless criticism around here: Briere was non-existent against Boston this year and he was healthy, That means he's a playoff choker now! We should trade him ASAP.

Why don't we give Carter the benefit of a doubt and see what he can do in the playoffs when he's healthy? Seriously, I'll never understand the crap this guy gets. HE hasn't done anything to deserve praise, but hasn't done anything to deserve the **** that gets thrown at him on here. If anything I'd say it's been disappointing to see someone who is healthy all year get hurt in the playoffs.

I also think its funny that because he doesn't lay people out he's soft. Was Leclair soft? He rarely ever leveled someone, but dude was tough as nails... He's soft, but yet his injuries have come from standing in front of the net, the exact place soft players don't go. And on top of that he has played through his injuries.

I love that you criticize an injured player for not performing.

Alright. Let's say that's all Carter has ever done in the playoffs (it's complete ********, but let's just go with it anyway). JVR had two good games. Since when is 2 games > a series?

Michael ****ing Leighton had 2 good games in the playoffs. Is he a superstar now? Jesus ****...

Why you heff to be mad? Did he sleep with your girlfriend or something?

I don't understand why we need to be so argumentative, we have a well balanced team where one person doesn't need to be the go to guy in the playoffs. Everyone compliments the team in some way and frankly quoting playoff statistics while a player is injured and within the first third of his career means nothing. All sources point to him progressing as a hockey player, getting smarter more mature and only rounding out his game. So let's back off, relax, and start putting things it a bit more perspective.

Have you ever tried to play a competitive sport with an injury? Sometimes if you can go gut out your shifts and not get scored on, that is a win. Expectations should be altered for injured players. If any team mate of mine ever drags his ass out on the ice to compete with two broken feet he is good by me, production aside.

As for the rumors, trading Carter makes a whole lot of sense for many reasons (the 21 points and -14 in 47 playoff games being one of them)

Trading Richards would be the most ridiculous thing this organization has ever done and I will be officially done with them until Paul Holmgren is gone and Ed Snider dies...

Maybe its just me, but I kind of think a Richards, Giroux, Carter, JVR franchise is better, but hey Richards has no heart. He couldn't even net 30 goals with a wrist that probably needed surgery, and he only had 43 assists playing with Nodl and Carcillo most of the season. Don't even get me started on Carter. He's awful at face-offs, is lazy, floats, and never hits the net.
