I wish the season ended after that game. We absolutely destroyed the Flames on the scoreboard and on the ice. Goal of the year and knockout of the year. Amazing.

Remember when opposing fans were telling us that Eb's goal won't even be in the running for the top ten plays by the end of the year?

It was the epitomy of old Oilers hockey. Never saw it again all year.

We actually looked like we could compete with the Flames for the first time in like 4 seasons. Then that went to hell. Hopefully it is a sign of things to come though.

yep - I remember saying to my wife that I should stop watching Oiler hockey for the rest of the season, because this can't continue and can't get any better for us...

I voted for Eberle. Funny how all of the people leaving comments on facebook saying that Grabovski should win are from Ontario.

I voted for Eberle.
His goal really was better, and I think you deserve more credit for a great goal in the action of an actual game with players hunting you down instead of a nice easy relaxed shootout.

Love the comments from the Leafs homers.

"Eberle basically jumped in teh air and then put it on his backhand. That's childs play. Grabo's is textbook hockey and he gets my vote."

Like seriously, the shootout is textbook hockey? A spin-o-rama would never work like that in a real game unless your playing against the Oilers and Tom Gilberts on the ice watching you.

Yeah, as far as that goes, Eberle was thinking on his feet with a guy chasing him from behind and a defender between he, Horcoff and the tender. The level of thinking/pressure/time/etc favours Eberle. If there were a difficulty index that acted as a multiplier then it would read 5x votes in Eberle's favour.

Absolutely. Ebs had to toe drag while jumping over a stick and then roof the puck back hand as he was falling all while going pretty dang fast, during a play rather than a shootout where you can take your time without pressure from opponents.

Gimme a break Buds fans.

Ian White thinks Ian White is the s*it

“Well, it was fluky,” White told the Calgary Herald. “I got a poke-check on it and it bounces right over. I’m sure there’ll be nicer ones down the road, but good for him to get his first one like that. But it was lucky. I did get my stick on it.”

He's become a defensive FORCE in these playoffs.

Just ask him. He'll tell you.

I don't think we gotta worry about Ebs not winning this. He is currently got 83.5% of the votes over Datsyuk lol.

I don't see a Russian beating the Canadian Hero.

Especially considering how much more dramatic Eberle's goal was. I think that as much as anything explains why he's winning so handily. It was a great goal. The fact that Eberle scored it just makes it even more likely to win.

Crazy to think that Eberle's first goal was so good it's the frontrunner to be the TSN play of the year!
