Edm/NJ

To Edm:
4th Overall
Jacob Josefson

To NJ:
1st Overall

I thought of this as a result of a really bad offer for 1st. Thoughts?

No deal.
EDM wants RNH, and NJD should keep Josefson and a pick that could be one of Larsson/Landeskog/Couturier/Huberdeau.

If the 1st overall pick was a Crosby-esque player, sure. But it's not, so the Devils don't hesitate to say no.

Exactly. I'd rather have Josefson and whomever @ 4, then just 1 of Larsson or RNH right now.

Edm does this easily. There is not player in the draft that is head and shoulders above the rest therefore it makes no sense to trade up. Divls get fleeced.

That's news to me. Every report and media outlet has been saying that RNH is the #1 pick. This is the first time in a while that there's no controversy on # 1. Hall/Seguin, Tavares/Hedman, Stamkos/Doughty. Bob MacKenzie polled 15 scouts and they all but one(who refused to answer) had RNH as the best player in the draft. He might not be a generational talent but he's well ahead of the rest

And you'll have him, and in all likelihood whoever is being heralded as the 1st overall draft pick next year as well.

Bad deal, Couturier/Huberdeau are not that far behind RNH or Larsson, and it's pretty obvious Colorado will draft Larsson, they have absolutely no need for a center.

Are you saying Josefson + 4th = a Crosby esque player?

Rather have Josefson + the 4th Overall.

Not a bad offer, just RNH is not that much better than who we can get at #4

No, I'm pretty sure that he said the exact opposite. It's precisely because we don't believe that RNH is Crosbyesque that we don't want to do this.

Josefson is currently the Devils' best centre prospect. RNH is surely better, but he isn't worth both Josefson and the fourth pick.

You have to ask yourself, that if the Oilers want Nugent-Hopkins, if a guy like Josefson is enough to give that up.

I personally don't see how it could be.

Every proposal needs to have a token fan that jumps to a ridiculous conclusion.

If there was a Crosby-esque player in this draft there's nothing you could offer to get the pick from the Oilers haha. but no I wouldn't do RNH for 4th and Josefson

My point was that the fact that this draft doesn't have a standout player provides the Devils with very little incentive to package 4th overall + their best forward prospect to move up 3 spots.

Good. Oilers are not trading #1 overall for #4th overall and a trash prospect. If he is your #1 prospect your future is ****.

I've come around a bit on the RNH bandwagon, but Josefson is the Devils best center prospect, and probably best prospect period. No dice.

Hardly a trash prospect. As an Oiler fan I'd do this and take Couturier.

This! Yayo is a solid 2 way center with a chance of being a #1(imo). I didn't expect Devils fans would say ok but you never know because it's 2 potentiall very good players, or one potentially elite player. As good as RNH is and as much as I want him, I'm convinced SC/Yayo is a better 1/2 than RNH/Gagner
