In the Fall: "This Jonathan Huberdeau guy is sick, would be a great late-round pick for the Habs!"

Mid-season: "Well since Huberdeau is a superstar now, this Zibanejad kid would be a great mid-to-late round pick for the Habs."

Recently: "Well Zibanejad is out of reach, but this Scheifele kid could be a steal at 17!"

Why do the players I like have to be so good!?!
I was saying the same thing to my old man last week when he came for a visit. Those three players seemed to have all the tools and would have filled a need. I guess that's why they moved up. I should stop talking about Klefbom now, I'll get all excited on draft day to watch him get picked 16th

One by one I'm going to sit there and watch:

Huberdeau GONE
Zibanejad GONE
Scheifele GONE
Klefbom GONE
McNeil GONE

And then I'll fall into a deep, deep depression.

Steal Zibanejad at number 8

Biggs is easy to understand. People always reach for nastiness and physical play, hoping for a power forward, while thinking you're at least getting a roster player that can dish it out and drop the mits.

Thing is, hockey sense and offensive flair don't pop out of nowhere.

Exactly, seems like you can find players like that way deeper in the draft. Look at Travis Ewanyk.

If that happens I sure hope they trade down.

And hopefully get a faller in the 2nd round like Musil or Khokhlachev.

We're cursed for drafting D in the first round, let's end the trend and just forget about it.

Mckenzie's rankings don't take the teams into account remember. He just ranks the guys, he's not predicting what the actual GMs will choose.

Or Noesen... If we are sitting at 17 with those 5 players gone. Jensen/Puempel and then Noesen is definitely our best option. I don't think Khokhlachev would fall far enough in the 2nd.

It's a consensus of the scouts he knows...probably the closest list in terms of how the draft will go...but you're right, it does not account for a particular team loving a certain players taht others may not or the needs of one team vs BPA.

Connor Murphy sounds like a steal in the second round for someone if he remains healthy, but that's a big risk to take. Injuries in each of the last three seasons.

http://tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=44969 For those who haven't seen it.

You didn't see him at the U18s? Probably because he was glued to the penalty box bench.

'Oh hey, I'm your average HF poster who doesn't watch hockey except for <insert team name here>, so no one has followed prospects for this draft. And if they did, they don't know **** because scouts are always right and keep their jobs for life and always draft good players'

Derp.

P.S. That was you.
