Petrell is a fan favourite of his Finnish team that also included lacrosse Mikael Granlund and national hero Ville Peltonen. Says a lot about his hard work and decication on the ice. One of the MVP candidates on their way to championship. He would've made the World Championships team had he not hurt his ankle. My dog is named after him.

Oilers release.

Let's give them + Harti the fourth line. The Finnish Bash line.

We hardly signed anyone when we had the team in Springfield and people were complaining about ice time then. I want some competition at spots, Tambo promised that, even at the minor league level and he seems to be following through on that. I am sure they see guys like Pitlick or Hamilton as key guys, they are not going to sit them in the press box all year.
Solid points, it was a snap reaction but I do worry about how many lefty's we have in our system, I have been complaining about us not getting the right type of players and these guys seem to be the mold that I'm wanting.

Why? Are we looking at making some sort of 1 for 4 deal? We saw what happened last year in OKC when the depth was taken away from them. Even if these two guys never play in the NHL it gives us some depth within the organization.

Will be a plus if at least one of them can contribute to the big team.

Petrell is a VERY good skater for his size. The guy hits everything that moves and can score aswell. A fan favorite here in FIN for sure.

As an HIFK fan losing Lennu pisses me off, but as oilers are my 2nd favorite team in the NHL it doesn't feel so bad. Take good care of Lennu.

I have to think if the guy is a good skater and able to hit guys on the bigger ice surface that skating shouldn't be an issue in NA.

Petrell is Powerforward/Grinder. Best hitter in Sm-liiga. One of the best PK guys in Sm-liiga. Good hands and protecting puck. Scoring is his weakness not skating.

If they both skate and hit, and this Petrell guy is a good PKer too, then they'll get their shot. Looking forward to seeing what they can do in camp.

Also interested in hearing what Tambellini thinks of these guys and if he thinks they're even close to challenging for a spot. Because as we've seen, it's tough to get your chances on this team if you're pigeonholed as an AHLer early on.

Are we not creating World War 3 eventually? Team Sweden on big club and Team Finland on the Barons.

I don't know that this has been the case the last couple of years. Who exactly wasn't given a shot?
