The more I think about it - especially after Luongo's performance this year - the more I wonder: Does Canada win gold in 2010 if the games were held in say... Edmonton? I'll still lean towards yes, but combining Luongo's general un-clutchness, and the fact that he's sub .500 away from Vancouver, it's not all that easy for me to say yes.

Did Philly have viewing parties with over 100,000 people in attendance on the streets?

Yeah, gathering that many people and then exposing them to an experience that will either anger them or excite them has a low chance of ending well.

I'm someone that hops on the Luongo bashing wagon, but I just saw an interesting post on another forum that removes some of the blame. The Canucks scored 9 goals in 7 games. It's tough to win with an average 1.28 goals per game.

Oh, well I can't really defend that if he did. Did he? I didn't really follow this series other than watching the first and third periods of yesterdays game, and catching snippets from internet threads about burrows biting, and various players diving.

I'm pretty sure he accidentally put one into his net. Perhaps the second goal last night?

Don't forget Jody Shelley.

He was a behind the scenes guy.

Good catch, Beef. That means 10 goals in 7 games for the Canucks.

No, it wasn't. Luongo was a big reason his team won the 3 games they did, and they were badly outplayed as a team in the 4 games they lost. Luongo gets some of the blame for the losses but the Canucks were absolutely blown off the ice every game in Boston. In short, Luongo didn't singlehandedly lose his team the series so, no.

I'd love to see Luongo's Finals stats compared to Leightons.

Someone needs to do the math... I mean, I could...

Hey NHL.com has it:

.891 SV% and 3.41 GAA for Luongo (352 Minutes in 7 games)
.876 SV% and 3.96 GAA for Leighton (303 Minutes in 6 games)

Leighton was worse, but seriously, both SUCKED.

Maybe I missed the memo, but why is Luongo in the same breath of LeBron? When has Luongo had PR **** deep in his ass causing him to flip flop on what he actually said non stop rendering any opinion or feeling he may have had totally obsolete? When has Luongo created whole hour long TV shows to announce what he is going to do? When has Luongo handicapped an origination? Etc. etc. People don't make fun of Lebron and dislike the man because he chokes, but because he is an all around oblivious ass and robot of PR/marketing/finance machine, no matter what the cause.

If we are making fun of Luongo for never being able to win, a better one would be LuoMarino or DanMarongo.

Are these stats better than Bryzgalov's?

I hope I am wrong, but Bryz also shows propencity for failure.

He also hasn't really had a team in front of him. With the Ducks, Bryz was dominant at times.

He also was much younger then and was a back-up.

And again, I truly hope to be wrong
