Thanks, of course you're right. I bought a video of the road to the cup - it was great, player interviews, etc. Marty McSorley was hilarious when reminiscing about game two and the illegal stick incident. He said Gretzky skated by and asked him if it was legal and he replied "i don't know, man" in a voice reminiscent of a schoolboy caught with firecrackers.

Maybe after all said and done the habs beating Gretzky, not just the kings was one of my favorites.

I dont dislike Mr. Gretzky but I was a huge Guy Lafleur fan and when Wayne came into the seen I still feel that Lafleur knew the great one was at his heals and packed it in a little too early.

So by putting the Great One down in the Great Forum makes it a special one for me.

Quote from Bob Cole "The Montreal Canadiens have won the Stanley Cup"

Did you's know that Bob Cole is a huge Canadiens fan........ Ohhhh Yeahhhh Babbby!!!

Guys, you brought up some great memories. How about these...

Cam Conner scores in double overtime as the Canadians defeat the Leafs at Maple Leaf Gardens in the late ' 70's.

John Kordic demolishes Wendal Clark in a fight in 1988 at the forum...someone correct me on that date. Kordic was unbelievable with the Habs before being traded to Toronto.

By the way, I like Wendal even though I'm a die-hard Habs fan!

Skrudland Corson

Heroes for me were these two guys when we beat Whalers in 7 ....I believe skrudlan scored the quickest overtime goal in playoff history ...6 seconds after the face off at Centre-Ice . Or it was Corson...in either case one scored the other assisted. I was 12 years old and remember watching that . From that moment on I was a die-hard habs fan

If my memory is good, Skudland scored 9 seconds or maybe just 6 or 7 in OT but it was against Calgary (in Calgary!). He got a pass from McPhee, not Corson. Skrudland was the hero of the moment then.

Zednik last year in game 7 against Boston: tied at 0: KOvalev throws it towards the net, it hits the post and rebounds to Zednik who roofs it!

Mine wasn't a single player, but, rather the whole team in 1971.

The 'Big Bad Bruins' were expected to stroll through the playoffs on their way to the Cup. Montreal was behind in the series, I can't remember which game it was, but they were trailing 5-1 late in the 2nd period. Montreal scored 6 straight goals to win the game & went on to win the series. They beat Chicago in the finals when Henri Richard scored while sliding into the net.

I won some good money that year. Bruins fans were suckers even then.

Maybe I'm a little biased because it was my first playoff experience at the Bell Center, but the two goals from Kovalev in the 3rd game against the bruins were awesome and definitely changed the momentum of the serie.

How about the game where John Kordic beat up Jay Miller and then Miller slipped while trying to kick the door to the Bruins lockerroom?

Henri Richard 2 goals in game 7 against Chicago in the 71 finals was pretty heroic. Esp. after his publicized dispute with his coach a few games before. Henri Richard, to me, is the definition of what it should mean to be a Mtl. Canadien. A gracious polite man, a fierce competitive warrior on the ice, proud to wear the sweater.

Marcel Hossa scoring like 5 points in 3 games after being called up. And he stayed at 5 points for about 20 games after that.
