Take out Liles and Komisarek. Neither are particularly worthwhile to the other team with their cap hits.

So Kadri - 7th. overall in a strong draft
25th., 30th., 39th., - in a deep draft

for

Paul Stastny an assist man who can score 22+ goals.

or

21 year old Luke Schenn
for
25 year old Stastny

Is Stastny worth 3 first round picks and a 2nd. for 3 years at $6.6 per season? Colorado takes the bigger gamble, but likely ends up better in the long run since Stastny has 3 years on his contract before he is UFA, and Colorado is a young team. We know Stastny wasn't happy with what went on, but players play and managers manage.

I'd say Schenn straight up would be fair. Neither team would like that deal. Schenn might even fit into their timeline better than Stastny would.

Press likes to blow things up, so is Stastny really upset with Colorado?

I don't care what Avs fans say on the LEAFS boards, they won't be getting fair value if they're shopping Stastny. If Burke is trying to pry him out, it would be that expensive for us. When teams shop their stars, they don't get stars back. Heatly for Hossa was a rare exception IMO.

So, ........ I don't want to move Kadri and 3 picks for Stastny. I don't like Schenn for Stastny, but it seems fair.

For me Kadri is still at least a 60pt pest. I think his upside is 90 pts, with the right chemistry. So now (totally IMO) we are giving up a topline player/2nd line star, and likely 3 player that would be 2nd-3rd liners. At least one, I'm sure, that would be PF type.

It's just not worth it when you look at it that way.

Not in the least. His father made some oddball, rambling comments about the Stewart trade (in which he said something about the Avs being close to winning the Cup, which drew a collective "WTF?" from even the most die hard of Avs fans), which some people interpreted as Paul being upset with the organization for some reason. Greg Sherman met with Paul about it the next day, there was no problem there and it's been a dead issue ever since. Well, everywhere but on HF it seems.

Stastny isn't being shopped. There was one rumor involving him started by our idiot beat writer months ago that was quickly debunked. He isn't going anywhere.

Luongo to Toronto?

With Vezina candidate Roberto Luongo suddenly being on the market, would Brian Burke make a play for him? Given the size and length of his contract, Toronto’s cap space, and his current popularity in Vancouver, he could probably be pried from Vancouver without too much trouble, and the Canucks do have a replacement ready and waiting in Corey Schneider.

Luongo is the most over rated goalie in the league. Reimer needs to play 60-65 games, not a cross-eyed greasy sive.

Two options I could think of:

1. Luongo to Tampa for Vinnie
2. Demote him to the minors, he refuses to report so they void his contract making him UFA.

okay just thought of a 3rd. option, he could go play in Russia.

After the no-show in Cup Finals, does anyone feel positive that Burke wasn't able to land Sedins here?

Why would the Canucks need Vinnie when they have Henrik Sedin? Surely they are not crazy enough to have Vinnie and his cap hit to be their second line C. That does not make sense for them whatsoever. Unless they are somehow planning getting rid of the Sedins.

Vinnie could play wing. Replace him with samuelsson

Yes because losing in the finals is so much worse than never even making the playoffs. We dodged a bullet there!

It depends HOW you lose. if you were a nuckfan, would you honestly be happy if your best players were shown to be heartless flops when it mattered most?

No *****. This team wouldn't have gotten anywhere they did without Luongo and the sisters. Now there cap hit trash. What a joke.

I actually think Corey Schneider is a good goalie. I think on a puck possession team like Vancouver you don't need a superstar goaltender, just one that plays steady. I honestly think Luongo in pressure situations gives up too many soft goals. I THINK (not saying I am certain) his shots against were real low this series and I remember a lot of softies.

I don't think he's trash by a long shot. I think they can alleviate cap space and perform equally well with Schnieder...just my o pin yawn.

I would be HATING the Sedins right now...just making up trades to get their ***** out of town...even though it would be the wrong thing to do.

Actually, if Yzerman could get anything of value for Lecavalier this would definitely be the summer to move him. Move Vinny for Luongo, or a couple younger decent roster players from some team, then sign B. Richards to likely a better contract (couldn't be worse) . They would fill a couple roster spots by moving Vinny and replace him with a better player. Would be a win-win for Tampa.

Where does Vinny fit behind Sedin and Kesler?
