and won't the cap floor be a tad higher next year?
yeah, i'm projecting the floor to be around 51 million next year though I don't have near the resources some of those who are better then me at this thing do (IB among them when he's around).
But yeah, essentially if all we do is sign those 3 RFAs to what I project (Tlusty: 1per/3yrs, McBain: 1.25per/2yrs, Bowman:650K/1yr) we still have to spend around 6 million just to hit the cap floor, and JR prefers to have that flexibility both ways come deadline time so expect us to spend about 4 million over that again. We could still easily find ourselves in prime contention for Parise given what we need to spend, or 2 good but not great UFAs (say Grabo and Whitney or Penner) to round out the roster.
32 under contract heading into next season
15 RFAs
6 UFAs
only unsigned prospect (that must be signed) is Tyler Stahl who I would say is not expected to receive a contract offer. There are rumors that Andersen has been signed but nothing has been made official yet.

Did Peters meet the minimum # of NHL games to avoid group 6 UFA status, or is he unrestricted after this season?
Not sure. Cap Geek still has him listed as an RFA so that's what I'm going with for now, but pretty sure he might be our 7th UFA this year. If he comes back next year all depends on if Boucher retires or not.
Based on these rules:
at least 3 years of professional experience.
Age 25.
Less than 80 games (28 for a goaltender)
I think Blanchard and Lawson could become group 6 UFA under this definition. I don't think anyone else qualifies, as Kreuger only has 2 years of pro experience so far.
Samson (46 games) and Sanguinetti (8 games) would be possibilities next season.
