Ok Sabres fan gurus

I got a couple questions and wondering if I can get the answers.

Both deal with uniform numbers.

Steve Dykstra wore #42 for the Sabres for a bit. Does anyone remember what year he wore that number?

This one is probably more difficult. I remember Mike Donnelly, when he arrived from the Rangers, he wore #16. In his last season with the Sabres, I know he wore #7. At some point in Mike Donnelly's tenure though, he wore #24. Does anyone have any inkling as to what season he may have worn that number?

Dykstra wore #42 in 1986-1987 according to hockeydb and #4 in 1985-1986. It doesn't say what he wore in 1987-1988.

Beaten to the punch. Hockeydb doesn't say which year Donnelly wore #24.

Thanks for the info! So, I'm guessing Dykstra wore #4 each of the three seasons he played in Buffalo. For some reason or another he switched over to #42 for either a game or a short period in 86-87.

I believe I solved the Donald Audette dilemma. He is listed as having worn #45, but hockey-reference says he had that number his rookie season in 89-90. He never played a game that year. Audette maybe was a late scratch before a game? Kind of like a Markus Ketterer / Michael Leighton type thing?

I don't think this Mike Donnelly jersey # deal can be solved, lol.

He played two games in the playoffs.

He only played two games that season, both in the playoffs. So, I guess.

Yes. That's solved. I think Donnelly wore #24 during the 88-89 season but can't confirm it.

Not trying to be rude, but why does anybody give a damn about any of this? Am I missing something?

I am guessing old photographs are trying to be filed properly. I know I'd go nuts if mine were out of order.

That's partially it... and also, prior to this new owner, the Sabres didn't really give a rat's a$$ about the team's history for a number of years.

Errors in the media guide, etc.

kpatterson...

If you want, we can always change the final results from 1975 and 1999.
