If both Malkin and Crosby are firing on all cylinders, there's no way Crosby would outscore by Malkin by 30 points.

I still think it'd be nearly impossible of the course of a whole season for a player to be around 140 points. EVERYTHING would have to go right, and we know that's just not the case ever

Who knows, but i think his ceiling would be right around 70-75 pts. Over 100 ... no. Holy ****, no.

I really hope Geno will work on faceoffs this summer. In KHL he was pretty good on faceoffs, if he really would work on that he wouldn´t be this bad. And it hurts him, because he isn´t a natural winger.

I was at that game and I'll never forget it either. Beast mode doesn't even begin to describe how good he was. He also put up a few thousand dollars for the team fund during the second intermission too. He really does care, it's just been a frustrating last couple years.

That video shows 3 things...1. I miss having a powerplay that could move a puck like that, and that's the tape the coaching staff should be looking at 2. Geno is a beast in on the forecheck. 3. So funny that no hands Staal passed the puck to Geno for the winner.

Malkin created every one of the Pens goals that night. Every once in a while I watch those highlights, they still give me chills. Seeing Malkin forecheck like that, and then celebrate after winning the game is amazing.

We lost in game 7 to a team that lost in the ECF in game 7 without either. Adding either of them would have made us a serious contender this year. Adding both would have made us the favorites by far.

The most impressive thing about that video ... Miro Satan getting 2 good scoring chances in a game. I'd convinced myself that hadn't happened once that entire year

I read an article about him putting money up after one of the intermissions, that game has to be the best he ever played in a regular season game. He was on another level that whole year including the playoffs. I hope he can get back to that form, he was in the top 5 in the world discussion back then, and he should have won the Art Ross that year. The last 2 years were a far cry from that, and it was tough to watch.

Give him linemates who can help him instead of 4th liners all the time and he could.

If you can't tell by some of my other posts, I'm really excited to see what he can do this year with decent linemates (Neal and TK/Jeffrey/someone else and not Asham/Talbot). He has it in him to be the best, and although I may be setting myself up for disappointment, the prospect of having the two most dominant players on Earth playing on seperate lines makes me giddy. If he's as motivated as reports say he is, I see no reason why he can't go back to 07-09 form

keep it up evgeni

I hope that's true. The last time we heard about Malkin being "determined" like this was the summer after the SCF loss when Malkin completely ran out of gas. If that's the standard, then 2008-2009 Malkin should be the low bar in terms of expectations (because the 2008-2009 Malkin had absolute **** for linemates).

You know, JTG, I know that we've had our disagreements about 3 centers versus Staal centering Malkin, but what I've gathered from DB's interviews is that his focus is going to be getting Malkin on the ice, period.

If you go back, you'll see that one of the things I've really discussed beyond what position Malkin plays is that DB needs to focus on giving him consistent minutes.

Malkin's different than Sid, IMO, in this respect. Sid could play 5 minutes or 20 minutes, and you'd get the same Sid. Malkin, when he's on, is like a kid on a sugar rush in the candy store.

Everything he does-- offense, forecheck, defense, etc-- stems from his being on the ice and into the flow of the game. Thinking back to the SC run, that really was more important than where or with whom he played on a particular shift.

So, if DB's approach is going to be "sometimes you'll see him at center, sometimes you'll see him on Staal's wing or Sid's wing, but rest assured, you'll see him and you won't always know when to expect it", then I like it.

Some may construe it as a compromise, but I think it's the right way to use him. I think DB really may have learned something in terms of how TB used Vinny and Stamkos.

So much goal line work in that video, just what I've been saying they need to do more of.
