I have no idea how someone stickhandles a ball on concrete with tape on their stick.

Really? I didn't think it was that hard, it's my main form of practice

I'd look exactly how Geno did. Without the tape I'd be OK

I was actually kind of expecting something more impressive than that... I could do that.

Malkin may have the edge on the ice and with a puck though.

I used to tape the blade but then cut the part that wraps on the bottom of the blade or I would rub the stick on the pavement to make it so it wouldn't drag.

A red hockey ball and stick tape and pavement like that is absolutely terrible. You have no ability to drag the thing whatsoever. You can tell when he tries to toe the ball. A tennis ball works better as long as you keep it on the ground.

I don't know the weather in Russia right now, but today in Pittsburgh, the only ball that would work on concrete is the purple ones. I have a local park that has nets set up so I went and shot around yesterday. Even the orange one was gummy.

Yah that makes sense, but I was under the impression from that original post way back that he was like ripping it up / adding muscle / etc. I guess I should know better since I have a similar body type and no matter how much I work out or how much stronger I get, I'm lucky to cap out over 170. Granted it's about 1% body fat so not bad at 6'ish but I wanted to believe man... I wanted to believe.

We have a guy on our crew who listens to techno while doing construction work. He is indeed from Europe.

I don't know why everybody doesn't use tennis balls for street hockey.

They bounce...so what? It helps with the hand-eye.

I always wanted a rink in my backyard made of that dek hockey rink material. That porous plastic. You could use any ball or puck on that stuff and it'd work.

Crosby will, Malkin wont. Malkin while he likes being here and does not mind being 2nd fiddle to Crosby will eventually get traded and he will be what Crosby is to us. The first fiddle, but that team will build around Malkin, rather then build a team like Shero has. I'd love to keep both untill they retire, though. But imagine that team that will have Malkin and build around him *drools* That will be a SICK team!

All I got out of this was fiddle and drool.

I am guessing a few years back, Red Wings fans figured "man, we're likely losing one of these guys, who though?"...

It's on Crosby & Malkin if they want to keep both of themselves on the same team, like it has been for many other players that have their contracts up and want to be apart of something. I don't see Zetterberg or Datsyuk feeling they play 2nd fiddle to each other.

Also, no one on the team actually calls Sid or Geno #1 or #2 centers, neither have ever considered that to be the case as well. I think the dressing room is tight knit enough where they want to stay together and want to stay there for a long time. Guys that will move on, are guys that made very little and have a chance to make a lot (Ruutu, Talbot, Malone, etc).

Crosby & Geno have made a small fortune already, when their 2nd contracts end. Both have made a little over 46m so far in their careers. I would hope both signed for 7years.

I would hope for maybe around 7.8m (why not, flipped from 8.7, heh) for the cap hit for around 7yrs.

YR 1: 12m
YR 2: 12m
YR 3: 8m
YR 4: 8m
YR 5: 6m
YR 6: 6m
YR 7: 3m

Neither Sid or Geno were problematic to re-sign from what I remember, Staal and his camp and Letang and his camp were the ones that took a long time to get things done and recently, Tyler Kennedy. Fleury, Sid, Orpik and Geno seemed as though they re-signed pretty quickly.

I am still hoping in the next CBA, they put a more strict cap on how much a player can make and enforce it. It would help teams actually keep their stars that they spend loads of money to develop and pay to keep but then lose them because suddenly because their team generates revenue and it helps the league make more money to raise the limit of how much a player can make, they can't afford players because other teams are fiscally irresponsible with long term out of whack contracts which pushes up what someone makes.
