No, it's not. Water polo guy is in multiple pictures causing damage. The fact that you think he can still be innocent is baffling, regardless if your bizarre claim that the guy in black made him do it is true or not. Water polo guy was the one to take action and therefore is at fault. Are you related to him or something?

Is this the thread to discuss Kevin Bieksa saying he should send the rioters to his land lord's house?

In that pict of him lighting up, check the guys with black hoodie and black backlava on the right watching him. Won't surprise me if that was the guy who told him what to do.

That said, he should have practise his common sense and get out as soon as possible when things get rough.
You can throw a match in a gas tank and it won't explode because it's far too rich. There's no way for oxygen to get in the tank, and hence it doesn't explode because fire needs oxygen.

General question to the world.

If Canadian:

Do you think the worlds opinion/image of CANADA has been effected by the Vancouver riots?

Do you think the worlds opinion/image of VANCOUVER has been effected by the Vancouver riots?

If not Canadian:

Has your opinion/image of CANADA changed because of the Vancouver riots?

Has your opinion/image of VANCOUVER changed because of the Vancouver riots?

BTW, what else can honestly be said about these riots that hasn't already been said? I'm surprised the mods allowed another thread on this.

I think we're just waiting for this thread to be trashed, tipped over and set a blaze.

All the while chanting "**** HFBoards!"

Might as well be.

One of the dumbest comments I've ever heard a pro athlete make. Not surprised it came from Bieksa. Not only does he blame his landlord for his crap play in the finals but he has the guts to make a joke about the rioters attacking his landlord

Relax, it's just a joke. If that's gutless than at least half the people on these boards are gutless.

1st question: No. I've been to Canada a handful of times and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. Most of the people were genuinely nice and hospitable. This event will not make me hesitate to consider Canada as a possible vacation destination.

2nd question: Somewhat. But no more so than my opinion of Seattle after the WTO riots. You can't really hold the entire population of a city responsible for a small minority's stupidity. Nevertheless, the live coverage from the event gave an amazingly intimate look into the actions of quite more than a few trouble makers. Definitely eye-opening.

Well, looks like he burned his career...

EDIT: Serious question: Is it ok if I laughed out loud while watching this video? I guess so.

The second he started crying I started cracking up. Good thing he doesn't play a real sport.

Here's my take on everything. I will let everyone know before hand that I am American, lived there until I was 18, then moved to Canada for Uni and now live in Vancouver.

I am not sure what category to place myself in, BUT...

American perspective: I do not whatsoever have a negative opinion of Canada. These events had nothing to do with any of the provinces (and heck, even cities in BC). Vancouver, on the other hand, has been tarnished a bit (this is coming from my friends and family back in the States). They are disgusted a riot of this magnitude occurred over a hockey game.

Canadian perspective: I don't think globally people are lumping all of Canada into this riot, so no, I do not believe the global opinion of Canada has changed. Vancouver, yes. I am sure it has changed a bit. Once again, it is the idea of people rioting over a hockey game. HOWEVER, this will wear off soon enough and Vancouver will get back to being one of the most liveable cities.

I actually think it was somewhat heartfelt. The kid did a ******* thing and he's going to pay for his idiocy. While he's become the poster boy for people identified, I personally think the random assaults were worse.

I've done dumb things when I was younger and so I would be willing to let him move on with his life after he pays his dues.

Everyone makes mistakes, and at least he's willing to face the fire head on and apologize. It's a start.

I don't think it's changed my opinion of Canadians at all. Though to be perfectly honest I always envisioned Vancouver being really laid back, I don't really have that image any more, I also don't really have a strong desire to travel there anytime soon while before hand I wouldn't have minded. I would most certainly think twice about ever wearing an opposing team jersey or colors there. I'm not trying to hate, that's just the actual feelings I have now, can't really change those.

lol this kid is such an idiot

Not so funny now, eh?

I have an idea, even though he destroyed government property, let's give him our tax money so he can be an Olympian.
