Given a season or 2 more at the NHL level, then we may see what Skille provides offensively. Does is exceed TK...maybe and maybe not. But Skille does other things than just score pts....he's a hitting machine and something that is hard to give value to some times. For FL, thats a valuable trait to have and they like him for it.
Kennedy is a hitting machine and is only a year older than Skille.

Value wise it's definately there, but I doubt Tallon does this because he has drafted Skille and has now traded to get Skille a second time. Doubt he wants to trade him away.

Wondering how many goals TK scored that was assisted by either Crosby or Malkin. He wouldn't be as good without them.
TK was arguably Pens best goal scorer in the second half of the season with Sid and Geno injured...

TK will be resigned. I have little doubt in my mind. Maybe only for a year but I have confidence Shero will come to terms with him on something agreeable. Losing one of the few RH/RW'ers on the team when there are few other options to replace that out there would not be wise.

Kennedy doesn't play with Crosby or Malkin, at least not for more than a shift or two once every blue moon. In fact, the bulk of his goals scored last year was after Malkin and Crosby were hurt, when TK, Staal, and Kunitz found a bit of a groove. So it's not really accurate to suggest Kennedy wouldn't be as good (as he is now) without those two, since he doesn't play with them.

As for the OP, I'm not sold on Skille. Obviously he originally was touted to have first line potential since he was drafted high, but as of yet he still falls into the "hasn't proven it at the NHL level" category. And while TK's upside is probably limited to around 20 to 25 goals, 45 to 50 points, it's more of a "proven" upside, and I'd rather stick with that. TK's also a little water bug out there. I think with a player like that, even when he's not scoring he can be a pain in the ass to play against for opposing defense when he's pursuing the puck.

TK doesn't play with Crosby or Malkin, like, ever.

Here's how his icetime was divvied up:

Hard for anyone to put together an argument that TK's a product of linemates. Who was he leeching off of last year, Letestu and Conner?

According to hockey-reference.com's scoring logs, he gets 1.25 Sid/Geno assists per season. Kennedy has scored 66 career goals, including playoffs. 4 of them were assisted by Crosby, 1 by Malkin.
