Even if he wasn't really great in the play offs he will be expensive, over 4.5 i guess. Rangers can't afford that and don't need to add some d-men, simply a "no".

That would be fine if we had someone else pulling the offensive load in the meantime. We can't just leave an entire aspect of our game up to a couple of kids and expect to win. On the same token we're supposed to sign Richards and supposedly contend. You can't contend and rebuild at the same time.

so you rather stunt erixon's development because you rather have a "surplus" at a position?

Having a surplus means you will have to trade away a player. All our D men can not play 20 minutes a night. So someone will be the odd man out eventually. Or you stunt his growth with small minutes.

So you shouldnt trade Ehrhoff because signing a guy and trading him away right away is bad business for the future free-agents.

so that will leave us searching for a suitor for Erixon.

I rather keep our young kids and let them develop into stars or even regular minute eaters. Ill be fine with that.

Lets turn our attention to the forward position right now. A left winger or Center should be our focus.

I know Brad Richards comes at a HEAFTY PRICE but he could be perfect for us. If the Rangers decide his blood is too rich for us, we can turn our attention to Patrick Sharp and or/Stastny. It would cost A LOT of prospects/picks/NHL ready players (not all of them.. just maybe one of each depending on WHO those players/picks might be).

We need to start to ROUND OUT our rotation. We stockpiled Defense and are set SET on that. Except for a PMD and I think Erixon/MDZ can handle that role.

So we are left wanted Left Winger(s) and Center(s) (depending on Stepan's role next year of course).

So lets target what we NEED and not worry about getting EXCESS of one position.

And we SHOULD either lock up Biron (this is his last year if I remember correctly), check out Stajer's development and see if he could come in in a year from now and be a backup or find an outside source fora backup goalie. I am not sold on Chad at this point in time.
