PG is getting all the little fish settled early! Even before the draft.

Great for DD love him! Great ethic and attitude. A lot of skill as well.

Great signing! 4th line center? 3rd line winger?

I love how PG means business. He's getting **** done and not waiting until the end of the summer.

Doing things quickly, love it. First Pacioretty, now Desharnais.

Good signing, good price.

Just for the record, I never thought DD's game would translate well to the nhl, but he proved me wrong and made me a believer in his skill.

I like that PG is getting **** done, but where are the Gorges' deal, the Markov/ Wiz deal.

You get the important fish signed first, worry about smaller ones later.

Great value! wow.

Desharnais was better PPG than Gomez, and at 850,000 for two years? Gives us a lot of flexibility and depth there. LOVE this signing.

Really happy for David too, he's worked his ass off for this.

Nice. Another contract slightly above what I expected (800K) but for a longer term.

We're losing pennies of cap space this year for potentially hundreds of thousands next year (which could be very important depending on how things go this year and how our 'playoff window' develops).

Glad to see him signed. I hope the team uses him as a winger on the 3rd line instead of as a 4th line center. He has the hockey smarts to adjust, I thought he done very well during the PO in that position. Could make a good 3rd line with Eller next year.

Really love davids work ethic and how he always busts his ass. Im hoping to see him make the transition to winger and play along side Kostitsyn and Eller. That would be some great tertiary scoring!

4th line center and lots of pp time i suppose. It all depends on how the season progresses.

Good finish to the season, and played well vs the Bruins...a little guy with a ton of heart! Half of Marty St Louis, so 40 pts sounds right?

I think there are more than a few of us that felt the same way.

I'm happy with this deal, and look forward to seeing if Desharnais can step up his game even further.

I'd be more inclined to fill out my roster with "small fish signings" first and then see what flexibility I then have left to best improve the team.

Same as in the Pacioretty signing, why wouldn't Gauthier sign them when it's easy ? I can't see him telling Desharnais :

'Hum, you want to sign now ? Now that bothers me, can't you come back later, I've got bigger fishes to take care of right now'

Dunno, might give him an inferiority complex given his size

Wow, great value. I'm surprised Gauthier didn't have to give 1M, especially on a two years contract.

If DD can score 30-40 pts with third-line time + special teams, that will be one heck of a deal.

This one-way contract is well deserved way to go Desharnais.
