Is Spezza capable of putting up major points under Maclean?

Knowing that Sepzza is the key to the organization right now as in future leader, best player etc. will a change in coach/system give him the opportunity for more points granted he stays healthy

Yes, and even more if he gets more chemistry with Butler

I think that at this point Spezza is capable of putting up big points under almost any system as long as he is healthy and has someone to play with.

Yes, spezza generally performs well under coaches with names that start with M.

The only thing that has really held Spezza back is himself..

He needs to figure out his back problems and not get injured as much.

Pretty much, a lot of his time out with injury has been his back, and back spasms.

Not by my definition of "major points".

Sean Couturier could be a wonderful addition to this franchise. Spezza's great, but we'll need another player of Spezza's caliber down the middle if we want to win anything.

It's his own fault for not learning to avoid "getting hit into the boards by Letang" when he was in junior. He never took the time too learn it as a kid, and it's catching up to him now.

I feel like as good as Butler is at being a natural scorer in college and the AHL, I'm not exactly sure if he can be able to transfer that ability to teh NHL. Then again 10 goals and 11 assists in 36 games is not bad at all for a rookie

There was basically two Spezzas last year. The pre-Letang hit Spezza was quite simply an abomination with a horrid 30 points in some 50 games. The post-injury Spezza was great but the stakes for this team were just about the equivalent of pre-season hockey.

I honestly don't know what to expect from his this year.

I believe the question is. Is Spezza capable of staying healthy?

Yeah, that's the issue. Can he stay away from back issues, if so, they yes, he'll do quite well indeed.

If Spezza plays the way he did down the stretch last year after coming back from injury....he is capable of putting up more then 100 points.

I don't know, 45 goals over the course of 105 games (Bingo, Sens, playoffs) in your first pro season seems pretty consistent to me. So far he's been able to bury the biscuit in any league he's played in.

Nice logic.

The only way Spezza puts up bad numbers is if he gets hurt. His already proven he's very talented and should have a healthy Alfie and/or a healthy Michalek on his wings, if not he's shown some good chemistry with Greening and Butler.

If he's healthy -- he will be great. If not -- well he will be the same as last year. PPG, but missing about 20 games.

Maybe. Spezza's career has been a roller coaster and I've never seen Maclean coach a game.

Nah man, he only put up a lot of points down the stretch last year because there was no pressure. HF told me!

As for the question, "major points" to me is like 100+ which obviously won't happen, but a PPG seems reasonable to me.
