Ryan Malone being shopped

Per Russo. How credible is this guy? Not that this is something groundbreaking but it's interesting.

Malone would have to agree to be moved so surely the team has already received his permission if he's being shopped

What would be the asking price? Both Vancouver and Montreal would be interested.

Too banged-up to be effective as of late.

Maybe it's just me, but for the right price I'd love to see him in the Burgundy and Blue.

He's a little older, but you basically know you're getting about a 40 point season out of him, plus some physical play, which I think the Avs need, on top of depth at wing.

Also, his cousin Brad Malone could see time with the organization, if not this year then probably next, so having him there could be nice. I also think he adds a bit of a veteran presence the Avs could use with Duke and Liles being the oldest guys on the team.

I think the asking price depends on how bad they want Brad Richards. They could just be looking to dump Malone for picks, if they can find a team that wants to take his salary straight up. Yzerman has already said he wants to move up in the draft so perhaps he finds something where he deals Malone and our first for a prospect/grinder/bottom pairing D and a higher first. That would free up extra cash for them to throw at Richards.

If they're not looking to free up space, gotta think they'll try and find a serviceable goaltender.

We need a PMD, and a long term 1a goalie. If none of that is available we would want picks/prospects. I have no idea what Malone's value is around the league, but I can say that I honestly don't know how we are going to replace his physical presence and style of play, he is extremely valuable to us.

Ballard for Malone swap.

Similar contracts in term and price.

Otherwise, Vancouver is not interested.

Physically he's a way off obviously but Carter Ashton is a Malone clone. I think they expect him to be on the team next year. He was impressive in the few games he played last season, showed a strong ability to hold his ground in front of the net and score goals from in tight.

I think that is actually a good deal for both teams. Ballard and Samuelsson for Malone would be better though

I'd take Weber and 17th immediately, but I don't think the price is going to be quite that steep; we'd likely add our 1st or 2nd to that package.

Considering how many goals his feet, legs, and everything else not his stick scored against us in the playoff sweep...

To Caps for Eric Fehr.

May have only been a goal or two, but I swear nothing got me more down than seeing those goals go in so their memories stick and multiply.

If that is the case, any way we could swap Weber out for Carle or Tinordi? Keep the first and possibly add a third if need be. I would still consider moving Weber for Malone but am obviously attempting to avoid it if at all possible.

Malone has an heir apparent in Tampa's system. His name is Carter Ashton.

I think Malone is overpaid and underperforming.

I would give you Komsarek.

Statistically, if he had played the full season he would've had his best numbers yet (57).

LOL offering the rights to Ramo. Not like Yzerman traded those in the first place or anything..

Ballard and Schneider for Malone+

Fills the holes both teams are looking for while swapping players on similar contracts that are both a little overpaid, and the Canucks get a pick or a prospect they're interested with too. Malone is moving to a contender so might be more likely to waive his NTC. Ballard likely doesn't include the lightning on his 8 teams he won't be traded to.

The + has to be a quality asset for the Canucks to consider that.
