I dunno dude, that's a hard question.

Glad my team has one.

Pinning 3 young franchise Dmen against each other.

Exactly. I'm so glad the Sens have one of them.

EDIT: In all honesty, I'd take Doughty... the 2009-10 Doughty. If he doesn't go back to that level, I'd stick with Karlsson.

if doughty cleans up his act it's gotta be him, we've seen the dominant season and playoffs he's had, the year that earned him a Norris nomination and a gold medal as arguably Canada's best defenseman

If I had to pick based on tbis year alone, Karlsson for sure. If it was based on past, Doughty would probably be my pick. Based on future, it would be a toss up between Doughty and Karlsson, but I'm glad the Sens have one!

I voted Drew Doughty, but to be honest the guy with zero votes is kind of the best (Kris Letang).

If I had to pick a guy to win with now, how do I go against him? Insane endurance, as good offensively as anyone, and physical as heck defensively.

lol Thank you captain obvious.

For some reason I just think Letang will be more consistent so I think I'll pick him.

You are quite welcome. I will officially choose Karlsson as homer vote and because he is fun to watch.

Playoff/Olympic Doughty plays like a generational defenseman. Him.

This is kind of unfair for Letang where he's been hurt most of the season amd most on this board just look at what have you done for me lately.
In the 1st 22 games Letang played he had 19 pts
Karlsson had the same amount in his 1st 22 games.
Letang was on the same ppg as Karlsson at the time of his injury so he could had been around the same amount of pts had he not got hurt. No one knows for sure but we do know Letang is a much better player behind his own blue line.So going on the assumption that they would have been close in their offensive production Had Letang not got hurt and Letang is a much better defensive player i would have to pick Letang over Karlsson. Next season should tell us a lot more .

If Doughty gets back on track, him. If not, Karlsson.

So I guess the question is how likely is Doughty to get back on track?

And I suppose the second question is, could Karlsson hit the same wall after getting paid big money?

LOL maybe Letang is the safest pick after all.

I see Doughty as that in between. Higher offensive upside than Letang and better defensively than Karlsson.

This one is genuinely difficult. I don't think the difference between Doughty/Karlsson and Letang is as much as results would suggest, though I think that's a combination of everyone remembering Doughty's best season, everyone watching Karlsson's current season, and Letang being out.

I don't think you can go wrong with either, though I think I would trust Karlsson and Letang more than Doughty at this point - just not sure why his play dropped off, and it's been a while since he's played at that highest level.

I think we can all agree that Letang is on one of the sweetest deals in the league (assuming he can play again). Going to be interesting to see what Karlsson signs for and then what Letang signs for whenever this deal is up.

leafs fan saying letang, imo he's better than both of them defensively and puts up great offensive numbers as well

He's also 24 and this is a futures poll. By all means if you think he'll be better for the next 10 years, but he couldn't hold a candle to what the other two have done at younger ages.

Karlsson is a close second.
