Both playoff runs to get there... Ellis was insane 39GP 64Pts

Cowen if he is great will be great regardless of the list.

I`m just saying Ellis is amazing and people should not be knocking him cause they are upset that Sens don`t get respect

Lehner on their show yesterday was rated A and Rundblad & Cowen B's, today's and yesterday's lists aren't even consistent and seems like they don't bother putting much effort into making these lists

Who cares? It's not like our prospects looked up the list and will lose all confidence now.

Lehner just made a post on facebook saying how the hell is he not in the first round and blames the analysts for not reviewing it more carefully cause it was a clear selection that's why he didn't play it. He also blamed Canada for some reason.

They just rearranged the first round. No second rounders were to make it in.

They didn't even consider lehner is what I'm saying.

Sup Fuhr, it's been a while

My intention is not to knock on Ellis who is a great prospect of course, but I don't understand why this buffon choose to ignore Cowen's accomplishments but praise other prospects for not much. Look at all those explications lol

Cowen didn't win back-to-back Memorial Cups but he did win a Memorial Cup and a Calder Cup in his 2 healthy seasons, and we all know he has been the key defensively, which is how you win championships

Anyway, ya, I stopped to care about those things a while ago.

Cowen is his own worst enemy when it comes to rankings or ratings. He was a stud in Spokane and stepped right into the B-Sens lineup on the first pairing in and was their top PK guy. He was arguably the best defenceman on the Calder Cup team through the playoffs.

Cowen seldom gets in trouble, uses his size very effectively, great with his stick, smart passer, skates very well for a man his size. KK described him as a mule, said he learns very quickly and that he just plays the position so well.

There is no flash, the stuff ratings were made for, but when he isn't there you really miss him.

Offensively he is developing, in 58 games 18 goals, 30 assists, 48 points (+44), then added 2 goals 12 assists, 14 points in 17 playoff games. In 10 games in Bingo he had 4 points.

So while Button may have dropped him 10 spots, I am very happy Ottawa has him, as will Karlsson when they are paired together!!!!

This is the reason. If he isn't being noticed then he is doing his job perfectly. Much like well, every defensive defense men, if you don't know if they are playing, and they get 30 minutes a night then they are doing their job.

You guys seem to be surprised that TSN (Craig Button none the less) is giving the Sens prospects the shaft.

One would assume that you'd learn by now.

Ellis has had a great junior career, but I do think his defensive short comings are overlooked due to his offensive output. While stats don't tell the whole story, Ellis had a 101 point season, he was +24. He is on the ice for many goals against, even factoring in his PP production.

Unlike Button I believe his size, or lack of, will magnify his weaknesses, and will necessitate a change in his playing style. He will also have to play in a defensive first system in Nashville, the adjustments may prove very difficult for him.

So until I see him play at the NHL level, I will have concerns about how effective he will be.

button during draft season is what eklund is at the trade deadline. throwing out preposterous ideas and hoping one catches on. it sucks that unfortunately most of us eat up everything he says.

The funny thing is that if they had ranked Cowen really high in the redraft, people on here would be going nuts over it, hyping him up like he's the next Bobby Orr

I'm not the slightest bit considered. I mean, who cares what Craig Button thinks? He's just one of many, imo. To be honest, I'm more worried about Cowen's health than some stupid re-draft. Go Sens!!

Rundblad's season just got him a +2 shift? Didn't HF just name him prospect of the year. I don't know if any defenceman has dominated as much in SEL in modern times that I can remember. His TOI and point production with it as a twenty year old is insane.

The 13 spot rise for Tim Erixon I would like to have explained to me. Yes, the guy is seriously underrated and since he's so unflashy he'll be that way his whole career but he must have done something quite remarkable to gain that much.

This Erixon thing is really laughable.
Playing on the same team as Rundblad, being exactly same size and being completely overshadowed by him.
Also his progress from last year pointwise is nothing compared to Rundblad's. He actually scored less goals in 2010-2011 than in 2009-2010.

It is silly how Rundblad barely rose, and Erixon rose 13 without really having any better of a year than his previous. Not saying Erixon won't be a good defensemen. But looking at their years, Rundblads got ALOT better, while Erixon's didn't so much. Although I never watched, so what do I know!
