Brennan was the best D on the ice this morning. Also you can tell the difference between the Pros from Portland and the rest. Biege and Crawford looked
good along with Adam, Tropp and Ennis.

That was by Balen, not Adams. Adams I thought looked very good this year vs last and developed nicely.

Agreed that Brennan was very strong. Thought McNabb was off his game and Biega tried to do to much. I think he was minus 3 with several brutal turnovers. Someyimes to confident out there. Pysek was very solid, skates so strong. Leduc was on his game also.
Enis was very good but would like to see a little more puck movement in zone. Held it to long. Kassian was kassian, what you see is what you are going to get.

A few observations from today:

McNabb looked pretty off today to me. His passing was bad for the most part. His physical play was good.

The invitees did good. Beyers had some nice shots.

Pysyk looked smooth. Nice skating, passing, and he pinched well.

Brennan looked the best to me today. His breakout passes were spot-on. His skating and stickhandling was real sharp and his defensive zone coverage was fine.

Lagace showed some good hands both passing and handling.

The Ennis-Adam-Kassian line was pretty dominant although it seemed like Adam lost interest a little in the 3rd period.

I would have to respectfully disagree, although Brennan looked good, Lepkowski was impressive, and for my money, more noticable than Brennan. Ennis looked good, but at this point he better.

And i just can't get on board with the "Adam is going to make the Sabres" talk that some here say. I don't know, i am just not impressed. He doesn't suck, but he certainly doesn't stand out as someone who is on the cusp of making it on the big club. I WANT him to make it, but from what i saw last season, and at the scrimmage today, i just don't know.

I thought Lepkowski was flashier, but I also think Brennan was the best D on the ice today. He made great plays in all three zones (including breaking up a 4-on-1) and showed great patience on his goal. I also really liked Drew MacKenzie today.

Beyers really impressed me today. I didn't like how Sundher seemed to deteriorate as the game went on. I also didn't like how iffy McNabb looked through periods 1 and 2, but he was smart and physical in the 3rd.

I was impressed with some of what I saw from Sundher, Crawford, and Navin this morning.

That's strange. I thought Sunder was the most impressive player today and I was only there for the 2nd and 3rd periods.

Anyone catch that diving save by Eno after the whistle? I know the goal wouldn't have counted by it was still pretty sweet.

He came out with a nose for the puck in the 1st and part of the 2nd, but he got careless toward the end IMO. The worst of it was that terrible turnover below the goal line in his own zone.

So, is there an Adams and Adam at the camp, or is everyone referring to Luke Adam?

Pretty much. Opinions rule.

I know YNN was there recording video when Eno made his glove save...I REALLY hope they put it on the website. Everyone at Dwyer was blown away.

Both, at one point they were on the same line. RJ would have fun with that

He should just go with 'Lurker" and 'Roo'.

Made the trip from Toronto today to watch the scrimmage. Great turnout today!
The pace was quick and the chippiness picked up towards the latter part of the second. A lot of talent not included with Armia, Cattenachi, Jacobs, Schiestel, Sutch and Lieuwen not invoved.

Some of my observations:

-I like that Ennis is there. It gives every other prospect a gauge on where they need to be.

-Luke Adam made smart decisions with the puck today and looks much more confident his year. His skating has improved but will never be his strong point. The third line centre spot is there for him if he wants it.

-Kassian: Really good hockey sense. Never panics with the puck, holds on and makes the smart play in the offensive zone. He could have destroyed Adams coming cross ice in the third period but he chose not to. Wise choice when playing against teammates.

-McNabb: A big boy who needs to fillout still. Made some poor decisions with the puck early but found his game later on.

-Sundher: Great jump and motor. His speed lets him create plays but I wonder about his hockey sense. Could be a Sabre down the road.

-Navin: The jump from highschool hockey to the scrimmage today is a big one but Navin didn't look out of place. His skating needs work but he has potential. Nice 7th round pick.

-Brennan: Solid today. He knows this is his year to make a push.

-Tropp: A battler with solid skills. Should be a Sabre down the road.

-Foligno: Going to make it as a third line energy player who crashes the boards and the net. Needs time in Rochester.

-Lepkowski: The kid really jumps out at you with his size and mobility. Wasn't intimidated at all and made solid decisions with the puck. Liked to jump in offensively. Like to see how he progresses in Barrie this year.

-Pysyk and Biega can really skate and both make heady plays with the puck. I would love to see Biega get sometime in Buffalo this year.

-I thought Beyers was the best of the invites today. He had a goal and an assist but it was his skating and heady play with the puck that stood out to me. Should have a big year in Barrie.

- A lot of players I would group together as "they played their game" today. Didn't standout either way but did what I expected them to.

Overall, worth the trip. Hats off to Kevin Devine and company as they have made some shrewd picks the past few hyears which have set the pipeline up nicely.

He definitely has the look of a #3 to me, especially on a team that rolls 3 offensive lines. #2 potential is certainly there but he will probably be best served behind two better centers (though, who wouldn't). Could be a really solid option if he works on his defensive game.

Also I almost lost it today, all the kids around me screaming OMG Ennis, Pass it to Ennis! Where is Ennis! Just shut up and watch! I know they're kids but i'm relatively young so i think i can be frustrated a little lol. When I was a kid i remember just being mesmerized by the play i couldnt articulate words.
