Looking Back on the Heatley Trade

From today's standpoint which was the better offer?

To Edmonton - for - Andrew Cogliano, Dustin Penner and Ladislav Smid.
To San Jose - for - michalek and cheechoo

Why bring this up...

we all basically agree that EDM offer was better.

Penner = Michalek
Smid, Cogliano >> Cheech

Clearly the San Jose offer, Cheechoo is a 56 goal scorer duh.

I'm still shocked that a 50 goal scorer could generate so little interest, for instance if TBL wanted to trade Lecavalier or Stamkos, both 50 goal scorers, I'm sure there would be a ton of teams trying to make deals

I'd rather have Michalek over a fat lazy Penner, so the SJ deal was the better of two bad deals

Attitude problems, a ton of baggage and an expressed desire to get out both forced our hands and lowered his value.

Why do you feel the need to rehash this now?

As a fat lazy man, I take offence to your Penner remark.

It should be common knowledge that the Official Spokesmen for our particular group are:

Kyle Wellwood

...and Greg Goldberg, goalie for the District 5 Peewee "Ducks" and Team USA (Junior Goodwill Games).

Hi guys,

do you think Muckler made a mistake in letting Chara go for nothing while paying $6.5 million per year for Redden with a NTC? Just wanted to know your thoughts.

Hindsight is 20/20

However, it is still the EDM package. So I don't even know why I brought that up.

To be honest, straight up I'd rather have Michalek then Heatley.

Heatley is a $7.5 million unmarketable player who is a complete slob since he made the olympic team and got his gold medal thanks to Webber, Keith, Crosby and Toewes.

I couldn't agree more. And not only would I rather have Michalek than Heatley, I'd rather have a 235255234th round pick than Heatley.
