What's the view from the 400's? And are there any obstructions?
It's far away but I like it. Different than most arenas as it's not steep and looking down on the ice. There are a lot of obstructions in the 400's though especially with the transformation going on.
401/428 - You'll be obstructed from seeing the zone you're closest to due to the 9th floor luxury boxes being in the way.
405/406 - Depending on how close to the TV booth you are, you may be obstructed from seeing part of the ice surface. Usually only affects those right next to the box and in the last couple of rows.
414/415 - If you're beyond row B or so, you won't see below the goal line you're closest to.
410-418 - This just happened this year but if you happen to be higher then row D, you won't see the scoreboard as the West Balcony they built this past summer overhangs the 400's and thus cause an obstruction.

Anyone know a good Rangers/Sports bar to watch games in the city? Looking to go somewhere to watch the Winter Classic and some other games as well. I'd want to check it out before the Winter Classic as well, so please let me know asap. Thanks.
wow they must need full time staff for that or are you trolling? Can this be done in a few hours?
I am assuming they simply just never clash? As schedules take each other into account?
Not trolling, I'm serious. They never clash as the NHL schedule is made earlier then the NBA schedule and thus dates are closed. I'm sure the two leagues work together for dates though. The only time they will play on the same day at home is if one team plays at 12 or 1 and the other plays at 7 or 8. It can be done in a couple of hours. Here's quick time lapse video to show how it's done....

That's crazy thought the BB call court was on top of the ice, on this it appears to go underneath.
Some nice logistics and planning involved in that with a 7 hour turnaround
Hey guys. Sabres fan here. A friend and I plan on going to NYC on Tuesday and are trying to get tickets to the Rangers/Coyotes game that night.
Ideally, we'd like to get a cheap hotel on the outskirts of the city and stay until Wednesday. Any suggestions?
Also, we're driving up, so if we do get a hotel outside the city is our best bet to bus into the city? Not a big traveling guy so I'm not sure what the best course of action would be to take.

Could always park by a station in say the Bronx and just take the subway in. You could park in Manhattan but it is extremely tough to find parking there and to park your car in a lot for a day is expensive.

Hundreds. There's a 24 hour lot on 33rd just east of 8th Ave, right across the street from the Garden. Bad choice doing it in one day though. you'll be dead tired.
The ice is removed after the season is over and redone before the next season.

If you're just going to be here for the day, you may as well just park in a parking garage in Manhattan. ICON owns the most lots in the city.
Go to daily/hourly rates, then search by area, then put in 34th street and 7th avenue. It will display a bunch of their lots and just pick one of the cheapest ones.
There are also alot of coupons available on the internet. Forget how I found them when I needed them though. Just search "NYC parking coupons". I'm sure something will pop up.

Its kept there for the circus (they have weekday home games when the circus is in town... you can smell the animal poop in the hallways during those games. Also, the scoreboard is partially blocked from view thanks to all the rigging they set up on the ceiling).
It is taken up for the Kennel Club (the dogs don't act right... they can sense the ice under them).
When they do/did have pro tennis, they take it up. the ball does not bounce right against the plywood/insulator/ice sandwich. It needs to be played on the concrete slab as the courts base.
