7thplayer.com's New York Rangers Off-Season Preview

Part of our 30 teams in 30 days feature, we bring to you the Rangers off-season preview:

http://7thplayer.com/offseason-previ...w-york-rangers

It’s an overview look at the Rangers past season as well identifying team needs and priorities going into the summer which most Rags fans probably already know.

But we hope you enjoy nonetheless!

Comments and feedback are always welcome!

Thanks guys.

Dubs is already a LW and his stress fracture should've been mentioned. other than that good read overall.

Stopped reading as soon as you referred to the team as the Rags.

as somebody covering all 30 teams do you really want to call them the Rags? Thats mostly a term used against us by other fanbases in a derogatory way.

Calling us the Rags is akin to the pejoratives like Laughs, Debbies, Philthy, etc. Not smart.

You know Blueshirts is more a proper term than Rags. People who don't like the Rangers call the team, the Rags.

Dubinsky already switched to LW last season.

Why is Erik Christensen, a center, listed on the right?

Zuccarello is primarily a RW.

GM Glen Sather will undoubtedly be looking at trading down from his selection in the first round (15th overall) while snagging a few picks in the making
Also, this is untrue. We traded away our 2nd round picks for Erixon because we didn't think there was anyone worth it in the second round. Why would we trade down to get more picks?

At least he got our cap space pretty much correct.

I wonder why you have a vendetta against the Rangers, since you managed to bite your tongue and not call any other team by their "offensive" nicknames. Then you ask us to read it anyway.

I'll stick to reading Leslie's posts instead, thanks though!

Maybe before you publish something, you should do some research and check it's accuracy.

Just a thought b

Honest mistake, changed it to Blueshirts.
Sorry, really thought it was a diminutive nickname.

Wow some of you fellas can get pretty harsh, unless I'm just reading into things too much.

Overall, your write-up is okay. Definelty need some editing and you might want to check a few of the facts, but alas you aren't a fan so how, or why would you know all these things.

And for the record, Dubinsky does already play left wing now, but it is an easy mistake as NHL still lists him as a center and he still takes a lot of faceoffs, so it's an honest mistake.

A lot of people from teams who have nothing to do with us use Rags to refer to the team. Honest mistake to make.

Dubinsky played mostly left wing last year. The first half he played left wing with Anisimov as his center and Callahan on the right wing.

Rangers did not have a 1st line center per se. They moved around Stepan, Anisimov and Christensen for that while Boyle pretty much anchored the third line between Prust and Fedotenko which was surprisingly consistent.

The Rangers got hit hard with injuries--players were playing out of position a lot and we had numerous callups.

As for Richards--the Rangers should be able to easily find the cap space and there are good reasons that Richards would want to sign with us--which doesn't necessarily mean he will or that the Maple Laughs (sorry, but you earned that one if you're really a Leaf fan) won't.

Rangers have one of the best young defense crews in the league--adding Erixon sounds like it's going to make them even better.
