He could be the best of the bunch of defensemen you listed. He's been rated around the top 10 much of the second half -- if he winds up at 16, he'd be a very tempting pick.

Hoping for Sven to make it to us. Pretty disappointed the way this has played out so far.

So, will we be the smallest team in history or the first team to ice 18 defensemen and zero forwards after tonight?
Looking like either is a possibility.

LOL, I had to rewind that to see it again. Right after Peter C said "We had an idea we were gonna get some good picks, for a variety of reasons" they cut over to Burke. Someone in the truck has a wicked sense of humor.

Of course he could. I don't mind him, one of the few d-men I don't mind. But him falling to 16th would not nearly be as surprising as Fowler falling to 12th (?). Or even Gormley falling.

No one has done anything thus far. Can't blame the Sabres for not changing the world in Minnesota at the moment. People are sitting on their picks, and Regehr said no.

The new and improved shiny Sabres skip a center, and select a ho hum defenseman or an undersized winger. Place your bets now......

There was a time in the early '80's when the would put Ruff and Moller on the wing, Playfair and IIRC Korab on the blueline. Four defensemen... It didn't work all that well then either.

Sabres draft party was terrible. Just go home. They weren't even showing the draft or any of the picks. Just talking to Kevin Sylvester.

Wanna change the dynamic? I say trade the pick, which will yield a top four dman, for a 2012 pick. Time to acquire assets for future deals.

Brodin. Interesting. McKenzie predicted it.

Glad they got Pysyk that late last year.

Defensemen versus Midgets, eh?

Well, Rocco Grimaldi would love to be part of Hockey Heaven, right?

Leaf fan angst is good for ratings and web hits.

We need forwards... Yeah we need centers, but we need to get someone worthy of the spot. JMO.

Let Murphy slide to #16, and some desperate team offer a package to move up. Please God.
