Moves like this are what real teams do. If we want them to be as serious as they say they are about winning a Cup, this will be the first of more moves over the next couple years.
Regier would be doing Feaster somewhat a favor. They know they have to move salary if they want to be in on anyone of relevance in free agency. Darcy knows they can get guys in UFA, which leads me to believe they wouldn't trade Adam, Ennis, or the 1st.
Just listened to the Calgary radio host on Oilers lunch and they said no way the Flames snag Ennis for him. I know it's the radio guys but they are usually pretty informed.

Exactly. The irony is that everyone rips Darcy and then when he finally may be on the brink of a big move, everyone around here is white-knuckling over who we might be giving up.
He cannot move a potential centreman (Adam) and another potential centreman (16th) to bring in another defenseman when we have so many of them. It just doesn't make sense. A defenseman has to be on the way out for this to work, otherwise we just add onto what is already a problem.
i wonder if the deal is expanded, and the Regehr portion is the only part that leaked?
Regehr + Stajan
"We wanted to get a #2 D-man and a top 6 center, and we feel we've filled those two needs with this deal. Roy-Stajan down the middle gives us two top 20 centers."
I'd be ok giving up Adam... but if we gave up the 1st as well... ouch
Same here. If they give up their first and Adam I think that is overpaying. I cant see them going 2 rounds without a pick. Darcy has to have something else lined up to get a first or second rounder.

I dunno who is more married to our players. Regier or us. :p

Well, it's just when a person known for their conservative approach is forced (by Pegula or the threat of losing his GM job) to do something rash or aggressive out of desperation, bad things can happen...lol
