I think that's a very good return for Regehr (16 + Luke Adam). I think that if a trade goes through, we will find that we don't need Regehr nearly as much as we think.

I think I'd cry happy tears if this was true, but I do not think the Sabres would part with Kassian and a 1st? Maybe Kassian and a 3rd.

Buffalo is indeed a team willing to spend to the cap now that it has new, committed ownership. There aren't any financial mandates on the hockey department anymore.

this better be damn good. Adam and a 16th is livable and would be good for us, even better yet if they packaged up Stajan. Luv Reggie, will be a sad day. To date Feaster has done nothing of value, dont screw it up!!! What concerns me is Reggie took a home town discount to sign long term and this is what we do, what does that say for others who might think about signing here, hmmmmm maybe why Tangs is playing a little hard ball. yet tangs at end of season said he would take a home town discount to say................ okay enough yabering. If Reggie wasnt given a deadline, how can a draft pick be in play for this year

Ennis + 1st is way overpayment from the Sabres but thats my hope haha.

Otherwise I'm ok with a TJ Brennan + 1st deal.

Whats so good about this Luke Adam guy? I dislike trading for players that have scouting reports that say they have skating issues lol...

Exactly, you guys finally got an owner who wants to build a winner. I'm sure because of this the Sabres will be one of the most active teams this offseason.

If this is true, it makes me think that maybe a deal could not reached with Tanguay. I don't take alot of stock from it though.

You're right to be suspicious. But Stafford did score 31 goals last year. Not too shabby.

Stafford eh? Does that mean Borq could be moved? Cuz they both fill similiar roles as 2nd line scorers.

Not at all, we have a hole on our 2nd line LW, Stafford would play along side Bouque assuming we still get Tangs signed. If not, Stafford would be playing on the top line. He is very talented, I just worry about his injuries.

We would not be getting a draft pick if it was Regehr for Stafford, it should be straight up.

trade

if there is no time limit for regehr to decide? how are we getting buffalos first round pick then? i think there is more to this, and it might not even happen, the 16th overall and luke adam would be a heck of great return for us, i think it might be less than that.

It's not going to be Stafford (the Sabres just signed him to a 16m/4 yr deal that looks pretty good with the cap going up). I doubt the Sabres trade Ennis right now.

The Sabres set no urgent timetable as to Regehr's answer, so I doubt tomorrow's #16 overall pick is changing hands. My best guess is one of the Sabres blue chip d-men (Pysyk or McNabb) and the rights to Tim Connolley plus perhaps a 2012 non-first round pick.

God I don't want to see Regehr go! But I agree, the Luke Adam and 16th package is quite good, it is also about what you would think his value should be around. I have a hard time thinking that Buffalo would trade Adam, he's really their only good centre prospect. Maybe Kassian is on his way here?

And LOL at the poster saying Regehr alone is not worth the 16th The chances of the 16th pick in this draft ending up being as good as Regehr are not great. I think he is easily worth that package.
Kassian holds a lot more value to Buffalo than Adam does. And it doesn't sound like the 16th is part of the deal if Regehr wasn't given a timeframe for his answer.

dreger

darren dreger and gino reda spoke about the possibilty of regehr being traded and dreger said it might not be much coming back to the flames, as it is purely a contract deal so the flames can clear cap space, im not thrilled to here that, and i bet reggie is not happy right now, hopefully we get a decent return if it does happen, but we might not, sounding more and more like it might be a 2nd and 3rd rounder and not to much else

He's a good scorer and has pretty good size. His only problem
Is lack of speed so he doesn't really project well as a center unless he improves that. He would be better suited for playing LW but Buffalo is already stacked there (vanek, ennis, gerbe, hecht.)

And as for Ennis, probobly no chance he's involved, let alone a pick being added to him.
