Not even close.

Now we have one of the best prospects in hockey and the 8th overall pick to help restock the farm system, we have a franchise goalie (for better or for worse), and we still have the flexibility to make more moves. With all the rumors about locker room problems and choking in the playoffs (for Carter at least), is this really the end of the world?
The point for me is, that we sacrificed a whole ****ing lot to get Chris Pronger and it nearly worked two seasons ago.
Now we turn around and ship out our two most complete and still best forwards and get prospects and picks in return.
We will have an extremely young forward group and a D which will be carried by two Dmen who will have 2-3 years left where they're elite.

All this and the fact that we could've gotten Bryzgalov locked up without trading Richards (Carter might have been a necessary victim) makes it a whole lot more painfull.

I prefer the one we got. Plus I don't want Richards on a team that's not the Flyers in the East.

Awards:
Voracek, Schenn, Simmonds, 1st round pick, 2nd round pick, 3rd round pick and you guys sign Bryzgalov to a 9 year/$51 million dollar contract. I know Richards should have been a "lifer", but the return the Flyers got is very decent as well.

Are all three picks for tomorrow's draft?

Really happy right now. Giroux and »Laperriere both spoke on the phone on rds. Laperriere seemed really convinced that the flyers are a better team right now. Giroux said that it's an opportunity for others to step up and that it is a new beginning. I think we solved all of our problems with those trades. We now have a future with prospects and picks. We have a goalie....and I still think that we have a competitive team who can be a contender.

No the Kings pick is in 2012. The Kings also got Rob Bordson but he'll be a RFA and the Kings wont tender him.

I have a feeling Richards and carter were acting like prima donnas. This sends a message to the rest of the team, shape up or get shipped out.

I'd take Schenn + Simmonds with out much difficulty.

Please don't let Brian Boucher anywhere near this team, for real. He's just simply not a good goalie.

I want to throw up.

I thought ditching Gagne was bad. This is painful.

I could live with Carter gone. Not thrilled, but I like Voracek. Richards is another story entirely. Getting back a rookie who, while very promising, is 100% unproven and a 3rd line pest is beyond stupid.

I will always love the Flyers, but I don't like the team much right now.

And good luck Roo - you're going to have to learn to shut down Crosby, Ovechkin and Malkin.

If those guys are happy with the trades, then there was something going on in the room...most thought this, and most Philly fans denied it...

Still numb about this. Obviously there's a lot more to this than meets the eye. Wow, I'm just shocked. I guess there's going big and then there's this. I'm wondering if Holmgren drafts Ryan Strome next or if he goes after Ryan Murphy if he's available. I still can't believe how drastic of a make over this is.

I am really at a loss.

Our Flyer Hockey World has been rocked.

We have blown it up.

I have nothing to say. I don't know what to think. I don't know how to compute what has gone down. I feel like I have been kicked in the balls. Again and again and again.

How could this happen? We had the window for the Cup as wide open as it has ever been, we finally got something we haven't had in 20 years (a goalie), and now this. How could this happen? How could they do this? We took 11 giant steps back. We lost the heart and the should of this club. It's up to you to decide which was which (Carter or Richards) but they are both gone now.

Depending on what is done from now until the start of the season, I am probably taking a good long break from Flyers hockey. They have raped my team of everything that was once good (Richards, Gagne, Carter to a degree).

At first glance I was like Whooooaaaaa, WTF is going on in philly, but after really taking it all in, I think the flyers may have just created a HUGE powerhouse here.
This team doesn't deserve a player like Ryan Murphy.

Sorry, I'm very bitter right now.

Ya, because Richards sure did a good job shutting them down....lol

Crosby is only averaging like 2 points a game vs. us

ding ding ding. Just heard about the rds interview as well, came here and no one is discussing it... but yeah, that's my feelings as well. If those 2 people are saying it's good, then uh...something was up.
