All of a sudden, as long as we add at least marginal talent up front with some good Dmen, this team could turn more heads. Here's my idea of what the lines could look like as of right now:

Nash - Carter - Juice (I really hope they find someone better)
Calvert - Brassard - Umberger
Johansen - Vermette - Kubalik
Mackenzie - Pahlsson - Dorsett/Boll

Hejda - Clitsome
Methot - (insert FA here)
Savard - Russell

Again, this is a really rough sketch and it might not be even close to what it might look like in a month, but this is a much better team to me.

Welcome JEFF CARTER! Great day to be a CBJ fan.

Gonna miss Jake though and kinda ticked at myself that I just bought a new frickin' Voracek 3rd jersey last season.

And I kinda liked Philly already, so the more I think about it, the easier it is to take.

Looks like I'm going to Philly 11/5
I am there as well.

Yep. That is a great point. It will also help Brassard if he isn't traded.

I asked this earlier, but don't you guys/gals think it will be easier to sign a FA defenseman with Carter on the team? I would have to think they would be more willing to come play for the Jackets now that we have Carter.

I'm still hoping Juice is a piece of another package mailed out soon.

What impact does Carter's signing have upon our cap and ability in the future?

You think Huselius will play on that top line with Nash/Carter? Both Nash and Huse play the left side (I realize that Nash can play on the right, but he seems to be a better fit on the left). I'll be interested to see who ends up playing with Nash/Carter.

There have only been a few times in the history of CBJ that I've been this happy and excited. I'm in disbelief! I know there are a few other big Jeff Carter fans here, but I'd find it hard to believe that any could match my man crush on this guy. I'm at such a high right now I won't say anything bad about Howson ever again. (Ok at least for a long while.)

Vermette and Brass should be shopped right NOW. Get a d man Howson that will help up or just hit FA HARD as a mofo.

Also, Carter will score off Nash's passes. IMO, Nash is a much better playmaker than he gets credit for.

would much rather move vermette and/or pahlsson than db, but that is just because i think brassard is still due to break out when finally healthy and i didn't like vermette's game last season.
