Quick and Luongo are their Starters and this won't change. #11 is more than fair value for unproven Goalies.
(just look at what Halak, a proven Goalie, got in return)

I don't think the divisional rival thing is a big factor when it comes to a goalie. Perhaps if it was Roy, but not Schneider.

It's not like trading an enforcer or a grinder to a rival where they have something to prove every time you meet.

They need to keep adding... and it starts with Jones.

There is no sense in debating the comparative value of Schneider.. this is about Schneider's value to the Vancouver Canucks

Jaro Halak is as irrelevant as it gets.

Plus, the Avs wont be in our division for long.

Habs GM felt they had to deal one of their two goalies (Price or Halak) - there isn't a need from either the Kings or Canucks to do anything with respect to Bernier or Schneider right now. Less leverage in trading this way.

That's not guaranteed, but whatever. I still would like to see Minny moved to the Central, Nashville moved to the SE, and Winnipeg/Manitoba move to the NW.

But yes, there will probably need to be an overpayment (sadly) on the Avs' part to get Schneider, seeing as he is in the Avs' division currently.

stastny would be awesome on this team but that is a hefty contract. playing with kes or sedins tho he could put up those big money points.

who is the best player we could draft with the 11th overall?

I would really hate to see Schnieder gone, expecially to the AVS.

Not nearly enough for either one.

I mean, Bernier was picked 11th overall. Why would you recycle him for the same pick years later after putting so much time and development into him? Also now that both look like much better bets than when they were first drafted.

That has no bearing AT ALL. The only thing that matters is whether the Kings think they can get a player at #11 this year who is more valuable to their franchise than Bernier is. This type of deal would no doubt go down at the draft tomorrow.

If it happens it's 11 and Gagliardi for Bernier and Drewiske or Bernier and something significant for Stastny, and then the Kings turn and flip Stastny for a winger and a goalie.

Each team could use a player Jones on the wing. I haven't seen much of his play though.

If we're going to trade Schneider that's great value, but I wouldn't want to play against him 6 times per year, well for at least one more year. Maybe because we won't be in the same division much longer this deal could be much more likely.

Hodgson, Schneider, 1st for Stastny... Get it done. I'm sure Hodgson and Duchene would love to play together again.

You'd have to think the Avs would seriously consider Hodgson and Schneider + for Stastny. Hodgson too play with Duchene, Maybe fill a center spot the Stastny left. And Schneider as they're starting goalie. Then add Raymond/ Sammuelson/ Prospect/ pick.

Wouldn't move Schneider for a draft pick, only way I see MG moving him to the Avs is in a package for Stastny and possibly for Jones.

Jones is more valuable to the Avs than either Vancouver or LA. Doubtful Jones will be included in any deal.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I really hope you mean Schneider + for Stastny and Jones. Otherwise... YIKES.

Ok, I re-read your post and you do mean a package. Carry on.

Exactly. And the 11th overall pick is more valuable than a potential starting goalie on a reasonable contract? Or a ? is better than a more proven young player? Look how many players bust each year.

They could simply trade Bernier for a similar return next season after having him and Quick fight it out for another season. Same goes for Vancouver with Schneider. Keep him as a back-up all season, see what happens with Luongo, and offer him up for a similar pick if need be next year.
