Who doesn't love the game of Mike Richards just like who didn't love the game of Wendal Clark but Richards is a hard man on a small frame and has already shown some wear and tear. Combine that with the fact he has a big NTC/NMC kicking in and about 9 or 10 years left and I think you have part of the reason the Flyers were willing to move him. In any event these things have to be considered.
Not going to argue but I think Kadri turns into a pretty good player and Kully is already a durable two way player with offence entering into his prime.
I really dislike the Flyers so maybe I'm biased, but I think people are overrating Mike Richards a bit. He is probably more of a second line center on a good team and while he'd be great on the Leafs, he's not what they're looking for first and foremost. Any other player in the system than Kulemin and it'd be a no-brainer though.
Kadri and Kulemin for Mike Richards would have been a really sweet deal for the Leafs. I know some Leaf fans wouldn't be on board because they believe Kulemin hasn't reached his full potential and I completely agree. But this is Mike Richards we're talking about. DAMN IT, PHILLY.
Also heard that Brad Richards refused to waive his no-trade for a deal that would grant the Leafs his rights (a 2nd rounder) so I'm guessing he won't be a Leaf, hence the Stastny rumours.
