Um, no he would not have. Unless you mean based on his 19 year old season (this season) he is almost 20.

I firmly believe that Kulemin was a product of his ice time, much like Matt Stajan during his time in Toronto. I doubt he would get anything more than 13 mins per game on the Flyers. Kadri is a good one, but I think Schenn has higher upside, both will be good NHL players someday.
LMAO, Kulemin put up better totals in only his third season than Stajan ever did in his career.

He scored 30 goals because he is a good player, watch him and you'll see.

And enough about Burke saying no, morons need to learn to read because once again Holmgren said "I'LL GET BACK TO YOU", Burke never said no.

I love the guy!!!

Honestly, I have really warmed up to him, the work he did with the blood drive, making sure his players are part of the community, encouraging his players to play in the IIHF World Championships (all accepted their invites except for Phil of course...)... His 2 signings of Reimer/Gunarsson were fantastic... All great stuff. Yes, Burke may be a blow hard, but he is a good GM and certainly has the leafs on the right track.

I think the past year, he has done a great job turning the leafs around.

No hate or issues with Burke at all.

I just think it's extremly rare #1 centers are available, perhaps more than anyother team, the Leafs are desperately needing one... The city of Toronto NEEDS a playoff game, and securing one of Richards/Carter, I may have slotted the Leafs in the playoffs...

As it stands now, they are still a bubble team... with a number 1 center, they are in the post season most likely.
Hope the first part was a joke...

But Burke never said no to the Richards deal. Plus from reports Holmgren wanted Richards traded to the Western Conference..

He might have "missed out" on 2 good centres, but I don't think the Leafs are in a spot to overpay..

Kulemin is amazing.

I would take Kulemin over every forward on your team. Yes that includes 60 point 7.5million a year Spezza

ALRIGHT TO EVERYONE WHO WILL NOW POST.

LISTEN UP BEFORE YOU GO DOUBLE FACEPALMING.

BURKE NEVER SAID NO. He said he'd consider it, and waited for Philly to call again, by the LA jumped on the boat and got him. Simple as that.

Oh and LA is in the Western Conference.

That is all.

No hes not. The flyers wanted more than Kadri+Kulemin and they said theyd get back to the leafs about what they wanted, but instead they pulled the trigger with LA and got Schenn and Simmonds, plus the 2nd.

Problem here is Burke is so full of ****. Big press conference about "Making it to the playoffs no matter what" --- Trades for Kessel.

Then realizes they're not making playoffs and starts picking up picks "We dont want to be a team that just makes the playoffs. We want to be a team that competes in playoffs".

Now willing to trade away 2 solid young players hoping for a quick fix.

How can anyone have faith in this guy? And now rumored to be trying to get Stastny too!!?!?!

Yes. That sure worked out well for him. The guy who he traded already won a Cup. Definately works out for the Leafs.

The guy literally needs supervision 24/7 because his ego of being the big fish is getting in the way of making smart deals.

He's just lucky that LA was even dumber in the package they offered for a guy that is widely considered as a problem player.

I wouldnt worry though, I'm sure that he'll make a move for a guy like Stastny, Leafs Nation will be excited saying BURKE is the man!!!

And then they'll miss the playoffs again and Burke will have a press conference about patience.

When you get that kind of an offer, you say yes. Not "I'm gonna think about it."

If he said yes, the deal would have been done.

If this is true, that's a big mistake by Burke. Kule is my favourite Leaf, and Kadri is a good prospect, but Mike Richards would be HUGE for this team.

That's true, but I'm still not sold on Kulemin, I need to see another season with similar numbers before I'm a believer.

Simmonds, despite not having as impressive stats, is a safer player at this point, IMO, because you know exactly what he will bring game in game out.

I love how one twitter post has spawned elaborate stories about exactly how the conversation between Burke and Holmgren went. All I know is that anyone suggesting the LA deal was better than the Toronto deal has never taken an objective look at Kulemin's play.

Kulemin plays basically the same game, but scores more points. Not sure why you would be sold on Simmonds and not on Kulemin. It really doesn't make sense to me.

Source? All Dreger's tweet said was that Burke considered it. Seriously, where are people getting this stuff?

Yea Kulemin only had one stellar season and it's appropriate to not be sold. However, just by watching his game, he's a safer bet to maintain his play from last season if not improve compared to other players. His point production may fall, but I only see him getting better defensively and in other aspects of his overall game.
