But we want our guys in Providence to get playoff experience and if they make he won't have anyone to bail him out in net

The B's are gonna be in the mood for acquiring a D-List 'tender or two...

Not that he would be playing in Providence this season (or next) but do people so readily forget that we have Zane Gothberg in our system? I really like the looks of that late pick...

I would be angry if Khudobin was offered an NHL position and left for the KHL, but given a choice between the AHL and the KHL you would have to pick the KHL. A better league where you can develop more and make large sums of money close to home.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Khudobin was back in the NHL at some point as a starter.

That's too bad, I always like the prospect of a former Saskatoon Blade playing for the Bruins.

I do agree though, the stigma of the KHL needs to be put to bed. The K is a great developmental league/career opportunity for many players, especially Russians. It's contract breaking that needs to be addressed.

I wonder if they will tap into the college ranks for a goaltender. Maybe guys like Shawn Hunwick or Brian Mahoney-Wilson could be options. We still have Schaef on the books down there so anything is possible. Guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

Is it safe to say Adam Courchane's time is up in the Bruins organization?

The Bruins will look at free agent goalies to fill the hole at #3. They need a good one for Providence. Who is available and appropriate?

From KPD in the Globe:

Again, in a broader organizational view, a more acute need is at the No. 3 goalie position. Chiarelli hoped to convince 25-year-old Anton Khudobin to fill that position in 2011-12, but after spending some of the season in Providence and touring as a Black Ace during the playoffs, Khudobin’s plan is to sign in Russia (KHL), according to the GM. For now, the No. 3 spot is anchored by Mike Hutchinson, but Chiarelli figures he’ll shop the free agent market for depth.

If this is their biggest problem then big deal, 3rd goalies are a dime a dozen.

Wouldn't be against Martin Gerber if we're looking for a veteran who can play some NHL time as well, just in case.

I'd also take a look at Dekanich, or John Curry.

Schaefer is an UFA on July 1. I hope they find another goalie and let Nolan go.

My guess is that they will either trade for one this weekend or first thing July 1

Sucks the Bruins lost this guy. He's a great goalie, and I think if would have made the NHL one day. Maybe not behind Thomas or Rask, though.
