Good. There were so many terrible suggestions. Glad the Jets name is back.

First off I'm glad Bettman was classy enough to allow them to use the name considering the NHL owned the rights to it.

And I'm happier that they chose to take it back. Great move.

Can't wait to see the Jerseys and Logo.

Maybe at the draft tonight?

I'd love to see a slick modern looking rendition of a jet for the home and away, and a nice retro jets jersey for the alternate

So will Thrashers fans become jets fans now or do they become say...Carolina or Predators fans?

The retro Jets jerseys are pretty awesome. I expect the new ones will be a close resemblance.

Whoa. That one came out of left field. The "Jets"? Seriously?

Weird.

I dunno, they're not the Jets though, the 'Yotes are the Jets. Whats next, will the New Jets claim the Old Jets history too? Did Selanne just become the best rookie in Atlanta's history?

Sorry New Jets, not a fan of the name.

Yeah. More importantly, do they obtain possession of the former Jet's franchise records like all time scoring leaders, most games played, playoff histories, etc, or start anew?

Exactly. This is my question too. Who has claim to the Jets past records and franchise milestones? Does Phoenix suddenly relinquish them?

Well, I was being sarcastic, but...

I don't know. I guess that's maybe a good question. I don't think this Phoenix Coyotes team has much to do with the old Jets franchise anymore (maybe someone can prove me wrong about that)... I still just think it's right to have their own history started anew.

Did anyone complain about the Ottawa Senators?

Lol that's what I thought but,

Anyways I dont think it needs to be complicated. The Jets will retain the thrashers history and the Coyotes will retain the old Jets history, it only really sucks for the fans of the old jets, and the old thrashers if you ask me.

Ha! Didn't even pick up on it because of all the talk of the new owners wanting to create their own brand. I honestly thought that the Jets name was going to be history.

I get the point of starting over, but other sports teams have picked up the history of a franchise that left town, much like the new Cleveland Browns group owning the records (as well as the ability to miss the playoffs) of the previous team when it relocated to Baltimore. I also believe that the city of Hartford owns the rights to any franchise records instead of Carolina in case they actually get another team in there at some point. So it's not unprecedented.

How do you feel about that? Really tough for me to figure it out, really. I didn't realize that that precedence had been set. I'm... I don't know. It's strange, I guess. I hope they DO get the history, to be honest.

I am excited for the Jets and the city of Winnipeg, they couldn't have named them anything else or there would be a riot.

Gotta make a new jersey but use the old Jets as the 3rd.
