I am not sold on Leggio being a starter/Sabres #3 either and want a solid AHL veteran who has potential to fill in at the NHL level, which Dekanich, MacIntyre, and Sanford can all do.

I also suggested a bunch of European goalies, most of which have been signed (Hovinen, Tarkki) but Leonardo Genoni is still an option that has very high potential if he wants to come to North America.

I think he's staying at Miami for his senior year.

I know it's sarcasm, but just so no one thinks it's a legitimate option, Dell is staying at UND for at least another year.

Teams passed on him two times now and still can't be signed without being drafted? Weird.
I think a young regular in the Swiss League can at least be a very good AHLer. I don't buy into some of the "Conz for NHL"-hype, but he would be a very good depth-acquisition to our still thin pipeline.

Meh, I have never watched him play in the NLA but after seeing him in two WJC, I didn't think he was worth using a draft pick on and neither did the scouts of 30 teams.
If he progresses, he's still eligible for two years and after that he can be signed as a free agent.

For right now though, Genoni is the best option if we're looking for an undersized Swiss goalie and he's probably also the best free agent European tender out there besides Viktor Fasth.

Also, anyone know if are we going to affiliate with the Cincinnati Cyclones?
I know Rochester is affiliated with them.

Holy uggg..That Rochester lineup looks thin. Hopefully, we get some solid vets. And our center depth on the Sabres and on the farm is atrocious.

If we did send Lieuwen to the ECHL, do the Amerks have an ECHL team they're affiliated with?

Clearly the roster opportunity is at center.

Not as of yet though they don't necessarily need one. Lagace was assigned to Greenville for part of last year despite no affiliation.

The University of Sabres

I like it

EDIT: Although I think Sabres University sounds better. Pegula can't be perfect all the time.

Is there a minimum GPA they must keep? Do they lose eligibility if they sign with an agent we don't like? Do they have to sit out a year if they transfer in/out??

Did Darcy fall over when he received a round of applause upon being introduced?

"Can I work out of the Rochester office this week, Ted?"

Black is already planning the Stanley Cup parade.

Edit: And Darcy is applauding himself

"When we win the Stanley Cup, there WILL be a parade in Rochester."

"I guess we could do one long parade"

"This is ONE hockey heaven, though there are two teams"

"We have the best owner in sports, we are one market, one team"

- Ted Mother****ing Black

Darcy's up now, to a standing ovation

I enjoyed the "it's not an affiliation, it's a unification" comment.

Same, but I also liked him pointing out something along the lines of "simultaneous winning isn't always going to happen" between both teams, eluding to the concept of ROC winning if/when Buffalo wins.
