Yup,

Regehr gets moved to acquire assets. Anything less than a 1st and a good prospect and the Flames say no.

Also, Stajan may be a throw in, but he won't decrease the value coming back. The Flames have no pressure to make that move either (well unless they are planning on signing B. Richards, which is very unlikely). The Flames are better off keeping Stajan until his contract drops to 2.5 million next year and trading him then.

He followed it up with a tweet that Washington is announcing a big trade. Wouldn't that be a twist.

Well, I guess this means it doesn't include Buffalo's 2011 1st

LeBrun is reporting something similar. Sounds like we won't know until at least late today.

Like Calgary didn't see this coming a mile away. They like Buffalo's deal the most, do they? Well, guess what, Regher doesn't like Buffalo as the option. Keep trying.

Seems like he would have to make up his mind before the Draft gets underway.

Calgary and Buffalo both need to know where they stand going into the Draft.

Paul Hamilton WGR550

Paul said this morning that he is hearing from people that he trust that the Calgary defenseman is willing to come to Buffalo, but he's waiting to see if any other offers come in. However, Paul said that he canít wait forever and that the Sabres need to know today before the draft.

To complete this deal, the Sabres may have to take on salary and Niklas Hagman's name is now on the list along with Matt Stajan and Ales Kotalik that might be coming to Buffalo. After three straight 20 goal seasons Hagman struggled last year scoring 11 goals and 16 assists in 71 games. He has one more year at $3-million dollars left on his deal.

Paul adds, "Luke Adam has been a name kicked around as part of the deal. Who knows if that will happen, but I can tell you it won't be somebody off the current roster. It'll be a prospect, a pick or both."
So many different angles... Haha

Dreger: Other teams are interested, but he doesn't believe any of them have made an offer to Calgary. Sabres and Flames have "exclusivity" in talking with Regehr.

More and More i am not liking this trade proposal. When it was announced yesterday i was estatic, Robin and Tyler as a duo would be great. I wasnt even heart broken that Adam was included in the trade. But as of today and reading reports (false /true) i get the feeling that Robin doesn't really want to play here. I dont want to see the sabres trade adam and a 1st (as reported ) for a dman that doesnt want to be here and will just go thru the motions. I would like to see Darcy move along.

Ugh, we'd have to take on Hagman or Stajan? No thanks, not for Adam and our first.

Because Regehr is indecisive? He has been with the same team for his whole career... I think it's understandable that he is taking his time to make a decision.

This is not a slag on Buffalo by any means (Ottawa is in the same category), but if you can get a Regehr calibre player, it's worth being patient since it's not generally the hottest destination for players.

LOL, that would be a good reason to pull out though.

It is in this case. I can't see Darcy burying those players in the minors, and buying out Stajan wouldn't be worth it. We'd be stuck with overpaid players who aren't good enough to play on scoring lines, and aren't smart or physical enough to play on checking lines. Hagman wouldn't be as bad since his contract is almost up, but Stajan is pretty much worthless these days. It would just be a big 3+ million dollar hole in our line-up that would prevent us from going after a true top six center, which is something we need just as much (if not more) than a top 4 shut-down defender.

heard someone from the Fan 960 being interviewed on Oiler's Lunch say Carolina has shown interest in Regehr also? Couldn't find and rumours anywhere on the net but interesting if true.
