Wow. Just what the Caps need, Boston or Philadelphia getting Couturier.

Will Klefbom slide all the way to use? Defenders aren't being picked high so far imo.

Do not like that both of these guys are still on the table with Philadelphia and Boston picking. Courturier being available there is starting to push it, too.

All kinds of center flexibility in Philadelphia but I liked Hamilton as a better fit.

Six of the top eight picks are centers.

They made out tremendously thanks to the Scheifele pick.

That's a pick by Minnesota (Brodin) that shows that Murphy's game scares some GMs.

Murphy to Carolina. Will be a really interesting player to watch go up against the Caps going forward.

Worse. He's often compared to Paul Coffey.

Hurricanes might have just got the steal of the draft two years in a row

Bah. Don't want him in the division.

In a draft filled with players with major questions, even as high as in the top 10, I take a guy with absolute home run potential (Murphy) over a "safer" pick any day. In a stronger draft I probably wouldn't have been such a fan of Murphy.

What did TSN say about Murphy? Turned off the stream after Colorado picked Siemens because I knew I was going to be bored for a while.

Is anyone besides me praying someone else takes the Russians so McPhee is "forced" to take a big physical NA defensemen? I sure am

Gmgm hits almost all the time on his Russian picks. His big NA defensemen picks are Schultz, Finley and Pokulok.

Feel free to reconsider.

Basically that he's extremely good offensively, but he's one dimensional. Questioned whether he'd be able to handle 5-on-5 minutes in the NHL.

McPhee and big physical NA Dmen don't go together

Easy to say as a fan, of course. Harder when you're a GM and are afraid of missing entirely.

No idea why the Russians being gone would lead to McPhee taking a physical NA defenseman in particular. I'd take Percy if available over any of the more physical NA D that might be there but it depends on who falls.

It's wide open from here on out.
