Campbell to CBJ?

There are a couple of reports that Brian Campbell has been traded to the CBJ.

Doubt it, wouldn't mind it, but I just don't see trading in the division as a reasonable opportunity, doesn't seem to happen too often..

NHL Network seems to think so as well. Not a bad move for a team with loads of cap space.

Both Oilers sources. Hmm.

Dan Tencer is a "recognized media source" per HFBoards "rumor" policy.

I didn't really want us to trade for him, but we are obviously going for it right now which makes me happy. I think what we gave up for him, if the trade does happen, will determine how much I do or don't like this trade.

To be clear, the #CBJ have NOT traded for CHI D Brian Campbell. Does that mean it's dead and done? No. But as of right now, not a deal.

I like BC, but I don't like helping a team in our division getting rid of a bad contract when they can get a better Dman for the same price like Pitkanen or Ehrhoff. If Chicago were in another division, I'd be all over it depending on the package.

I don't like it. Unless Commodore goes to Chicago.

I would count out that possibility. Nice conjecture there!

Not a real fan of BC. If it happens hope it is cheap, and Commie heads the other way.

Edit: Not trying to copy you MFrone.

Someone jumped the gun on Wikipedia, but this last line is pretty funny in a sad way.

Quote:
On June 24, 2011, Brian was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets. After the trade was finalized officials spent 3 hours convincing Campbell there was a team in Columbus.

Apparently, he wouldn't waive his no trade

Agreed. I only like it if Commodore goes the other way. Even then, I don't like helping a division rival get out of mistake. Never interfere with an opponent who is defeating themselves. We have other options. Guess we wait and see.

If nothing else, this along with all the other events shows that Howsen was not kidding about being aggressive on the trade market this off season and improving the team. Not sure how I feel about Campbell, not sure it matters now anyhow.

Portzline just tweeted that the rumors of BC waiving his NTC are false. He seems to be on the money when it comes to this potential deal.

How would Porty know anything??

Campbell used his no movement clause to block a trade, we'll never know who we were giving up.
