Great pick. What a steal. Defense should be picked next year...hopefully.

So technically Schenn will be our new Richards and Couturier will be our new Carter, both with a possibility of being better than their predecessors.
I'm psyched

We go from having nothing in the cupboard to opening a grocery store in 24 hours.
Incredible.

The way I see it...none of our top 4-5 were drafted by us. We will be fine.

More like a butcher.
We still lack top end defense (vegetables), but we have all the offense (meat).

The thing is, we don't need it this season. If we can get some serious high end D, I'd say the 2012 draft. Because now we have replacements in the system for Richards and Carter, which is damn awesome.

Before we question our defense in 2 years, remember we will have Kimmo's cap space to find someone really, really, really good.

It'll be taken care of one way or another. The only way we don't take Dougie Hamilton is if a talent like Couturier fell. Guess what happened?
I am a firm believer you don't draft need per se, you draft BPA if you are able to and the opportunity presents itself. Couturier could play for us and develop in front of our eyes, or he could be packaged for a bigger piece within the next few years. Also let's not forget this staff knows how to draft first round talent. Homer looked incredulous when asked about Couturier being there.
We can go buy some produce/vegetables in the market, anyway
.

I do trust Homer's drafting. Let's see where this guy goes.

I am thrilled with this pick. This is the kid I wanted the most but thought he wouldn't get to us.

Gordie Clark (Rangers' rep) played in the Flyers' system a few years ago.

According to same guy who has broke everything else we are trying to acquire Bogosian. Atl/Winn could add another ex Hawk in Versteeg..........
But this guy has been adamant that Steeg isn't being moved....
