I have been here a long time buddy

And so what I was blasted for it??? I have been debating back and forth with those guys for years....I get fired up sometimes because its fun for me. It doesnt upset me, I dont take it personally and I dont feel the need to criticize the entire board for it. Who gives a ****, its a frigin debate about a hockey team.

It's also not "he's might be traded" that Jester and I debated, it was "he sucks at playoffs."

Everyone in touch with reality knew he could be traded. Personally, I would have preferred keeping him, but "say la vee" as the french say.

Dont really follow junior hockey as close as I used to but according to some things I have been reading he was the best player in Junior the past couple years but his draft stock slipped due to mono.

One good thing is that he has the size to compete in the nhl. The only thing that worries me is big guys sometimes take a longer time to develop (ex JVR)
If we have to wait 2 years for him to come to Philly and then give him 2 regular seasons before he begins his breakout in the playoffs the way JVR just did I'm OK with that. I can wait 4 years for him to become a real force. I'm in this for the long haul. I personally am glad we drafted JVR and not Kane. Sure Kane is damned good and had immediate success but he's about as good as he's ever going to be (and that still anit a bad thing). JVR is just going to keep getting better over the next few years and I fully expect him to be a much better player than Kane very soon. JVR will most likely be a regular allstar for us, more so than even Giroux.

If it takes Sean a little while to develope and he becomes as dominant as I (and most others on here now too) believe he will be then I'll be as happy as a pig in you know what.

Really good read
I really never gave any consideration of him because I did not believe that we had a shot at picking him in the draft. All I can say is I hope we do not rush him. But I am excited about the future this club has with all the young big kids coming in. And we have future picks and we are not cap strapped anymore. Wow what a crazy two days eh?!

Imagine if he did step in, and we have both Schenn and Couturier on our team. Nice .

Yeah, remember the days when we had Gagné-Brière-Hartnell, Umberger-Richards-Lupul, Upshall-Carter-Knuble as our top 9 and had Downie, Giroux and JvR as prospects. The future looked so bright when the kids had all grown up.

I hope we have the patience to allow him to develop properly. Kids with his size tend to take a little longer to develop. I think he could use one more year in junior, we should be young enough on forwards as it is anyway.

Good chance that the cap will keep Couturier off the team, but wouldn't be shocked if he gets the obligatory 9-game look. Holmgren seems to have a big woody for him, so he'll get every chance to make the team.

And that he prides himself on being a 200-foot player.

In 2009-10, Couturier won the QMJHL total points title at age 16 and 4 months, ahead of guys like Philip-Michaël Devos (19), Mike Hoffman (20), Nicolas Deschamps (19) and Luke Adam (19).

Just wait til his frame fills out.

Félicitations à Sean Couturier.
Bonne chance.

Wouldn't be shocked if he made the team and they move Briere to wing.

some raltives of mine have seen him play quite a bit say he has a meanstreak.
I asked about the Carter comparisons and they said not really similar players.

Doesn't have the wheels like Carter but is more physical.

I'm batting about 1.000 on predictions the last few years... So, yeah. And I don't say that to be a dick, you can check the record.

Three years ago

Flawed team that needed a new coach.

Two years ago

Cup contender that needed a goalie.

This past year I predicted second rd exit.

Of course, while you are berating HF you are essentially declaring yourself a troll. Congrats. In that same post you complained that people put too much stock in potential AND too much attention to precedent. Awesome conflict of logic there. Not to mention the fact that your claim as a broad stroke was a byproduct of your inability to read. For example, if you don't think my stat analysis is framed with watching games that's a reflection of you not reading what I say.

All that's fine, but it does wind up with what you said being base level ignorance.

Good predictions... great to see that you and only you had the foresight to see things such as these.
